| Hi Guys,
My kakis and myself are looking to join either term or full m'ship for JB golf clubs to play some weekend golf and reccomendation?
Considerations: - Price - Condition of course - Location - Service
Please if possible, provide your view and opinions.

| If I have the money and the ability to play at least twice a week, I would go for palm villa for i think its value for money and 3x9 courses
2nd pick will be palm resort
and best pick is JGCC....for I luv walking course but I thinks JGCC is a bit more ex as compared to the first 2.

| For weekend only: I agree with Palm Villa -> close to Singapore and course usually in good condition. Horizon Hills is also nice, but expensive...
For weekdays I would consider: Ponderosa Horizon Hills Tanjung Puteri

| I have 3 suggestion: Horizon, ponderosa, tanjong puteri Course condition: 1) Horizon 2) Tanjong puteri 3) Ponderosa
Guest rate: (If you bring your friend to play) 1) Ponderosa 2) Tanjong Puteri 3) Horizon
Location: 1) Horizon 2) Ponderosa 3) Tanjong Puteri
Palm Villa is public course, membership is not so compulsary. Since your game will be weekend, the most important is easy to book or else it will happen that you are having a membership but difficult to book the flight. Tanjong Puteri one advantage is weekend 2 balls for B & C is OK.

| I don think horizon is open for membership. There is however a membership for horizon, but it comes together with the purchase of the more premium bangalows there. | |

| To me, Poresia is best value for $$$. Pay 2k plus lifetime membership, subscription about 40 a month, and u pay rm38 green fee on weekends.
Note: I said most value for $$$, not most beautiful, with pretty caddies, and a clubhouse to die for.

| FYI, to buy a Horizon Hills membership, you will first have to buy either a semi detached house or a bungalow at Horizon Hills or East Ledang in Nusajaya. Once you are a house owner, you can then be allowed to buy the golf membership at RM 35,000.00
The price of the houses are all above RM 1 million.

It's a nice course for a round of cheap & good "quickie" 9-holes, only RM25 if you are walking. With the EDL, can be there in 10 minutes after clearing checkpoints. Quiet afternoons too!

| Having been a member of 2 clubs in Johor and even 1 club in KL. I feel its probably more worthwhile to just book and play rather than become a member . You can play whichever course and whenever you want. Unless of course you are the sort that can play every other day then it would make more sense to buy a membership but even then you will probably get rather tired of the same course over and over again. Once you become a member you will feel obligated to play at your club for a while before the boredom sets in then you will find yourself playing less and less at your club and more somewhere else. This is just my opinion of course and others may not feel this way. Do consider carefully as most of these club memberships are not easy to sell if you get tired of them. | |
