| "Is more.. if in the competition.. your flight peer may at times stir you up to make you angry or etc.. just to make you upset and unable to focus.. " The sports psyc will tell you to concentrate on the something else (e.g. happy thought or some silly activities), just to refocus... in the past, my usual silly activity is to guess the number of coins in my wallet and count them... drives my opponents crazy with the ting ting ting ting noise Now a day, I play so badly that no need to be upset already... just glad that I am lucky enough still to be golfing whilst others are struggling to stay alive. | |

You just found your solution. Don't care and you will play well. As for me, I always remind myself that I will hit a bad shot(s) in my round. When it happened, I felt okay and learn to take it as it come. It a good experience when you have golf buddies that try to piss you off. It train your mental games indirectly to put your emotion in control. Need to think what you want to do, not those things you do not want to do during a shot. Pressure is another issue related indirectly to controlling your emotion too. Those up set feeling will not go away as it is always be there as you are thinking about it and it cannot be avoid or hide them somewhere else. My golf buddies knew when I started to laugh allot during a round, they knew I am trying to keep my check on my emotion. When I am serious, they knew I am playing well and they will try to screw me up. I learn to like it and try strengthen my metal game through it. Now, they do not know what to do with me and start giving me $ Oh, I forgot one more, learn to breath. | |
