| Just realize a mere increase of 2mph on swing speed will add 15 meters to your drive! Did you know that? Or am I seeing the wrong thing? | |

| I did a trackman test with Ping. It was 2mph to 15M. | |

| 2mph with differing launch, spin, AOA, etc etc can lead to distance differences leh.
even if same swing speed, the different other stats can mean a difference in distance.

| Think the important factor is how to increase swing speed.... | |

| its easier to improve swing fundamentals than increase swing speed.
improve the quality of the strike, achieve high smash factor, with a square face and in to out/in path and positive AoA will net you good carry distance with low spin.

| I've read 1mph = 2.5 carry yards or ~2.25m
Distance depends on : ball speed, launch angle and spin
So the difference you experienced could be as a result of any combo of the above!
Ball speed depends on swing speed and smash factor
Launch and spin depend on AOA and dynamic loft (loft of driver, shaft lean, shaft flex, driver head etc etc)
Partner , no changing of swing just yet, we have work to do!!!

| swing speed is important, smash factor is more important. having the swing to execute it on the course time after time is the most important.
you can slow down your club head speed and still achieve 15 meters extra if you:
1. hit the sweet spot (take out side spin, every 1/4 inch off represents approximately 7% loss in distance and accuracy) 2. achieve better smash factor 3. create better launch conditions (AoA, club path and face angle at impact, launch angle and ball spin rate 4. have a consistent swing
at demos, you are hitting ball after ball in a control environment. on the actual course, you only get one chance, its different. also if you are using foresight or flightscope or Trackman, each will show you different figures. i would not dwell which is more accurate but the Trackman Pro uses real time monitoring and is usually show a lower swing speed compared to the FS.
last but not least, use the stats to improve or optimise, stats (specs) can help golfers, coach and club fitter understand and improve their game but it show not be the only source to gauge one's game. the gauge is your score.

| How do we gap our swing speed? My ss gets closer as the club gets longer, 3w almost = driver. | |
