Mandai driving range

Just like to check if anyone been down to mandai?

New rates for range balls or game?

Went yesterday for a game, green fees are the same but the trolley rental deposit has increased to $10 instead of $7 previously.

is the range still open?

Not sure about the operating hours but you can call and enquire.

Non peak 7am-2pm 50 balls for $2

Peak, weekends,PHs 40 balls for $2

Operating hours 7am-11pm
Monday 1pm-11pm

Think this is what I saw when I went this morning.

Is Seletar CC taken over the course and range? Any upgrades to course. Hopefully can improve the drainage there.

peak rate looks the same to me, it was $4 for 80balls

Tuesday I cycle to Ponggol Range park my MTB nearby
security told me to park outside, I told him, Can, but if the bike
lost you pay me $2k I'll do as you say! finally he allow me.

Drive there they want to charge parking, their business is really Bad
not many golfers practising. Whereas Bishan and OCC alway crowded
after office hours!

Parking rates for cars cost $0.60 per 30 minutes. Not worth it at all.
Range balls cost at $6.00 for 90 balls.

Can't understand their kind of business sense...

How is the condition of the range? i remember the last time i went there it was bad...

I pity Poh Brothers, car park charges was imposed by the landlord
not sure who perhaps SLA?? gahmen?

Range and KFC business badly affected. After contract lease expired
there goes !!!

Played at Punggol range on 18 Jan 2012 at 8pm. The place not packed with golfers (which is good). The mat is new (which is good). Dunno how come I can easily hit 200 metres for my driver and 4 iron (is the distance wrongly placed)? The mats were placed at appropriate distance (unlike some driving range where the mats were closely placed).

Ponggol range uses carpet instead of grass, so when ball hit the ground it bounces
off further. No surprise I hit further with my Ping G15 driver!

understand that the distance markers are in yards.. not metres.. not sure how true though..

going back to mandai. Heard from the staff there that Seletar whom took over the area is doing some major planning to upgrade the area.
Not sure will they add in another 9 holes? or extend the length of the fairway?

No wonder the reception area look empty at Mandai,
the range also pretty empty.
