| Have been in golf for a year now.
I realized that driving ranges have become a place for golfers to hangout and chitchat (which is not wrong), other than hitting a few balls.
When i started out learning, i was told by my pro that golf is a gentlemen's game which require good etiquettes. Things like silence when other player is addressing and hitting a ball is top priority! The list goes on.....
While i've little problem with golfers i've played with on course regarding the above, it is different at the ranges! Common sights like chitchatting loudly (as if they need others to ackonwledge their topics), coaching their friends at the top of their voice, allowing children to run around shouting and playing etc etc..... are seen almost at all ranges i've gone to.
Sometimes such activities can really get on my nerves and distort my concentration when all i wanted was to practice and improve my game.
While it is understandable that we all are trying to enjoy the companionship of our kakis and the game. It is imo that considerations should be made to others.
I'm may have caused some discomforts to some golfers by posting this and i apologise but would hope that all golfers would consider the above situation and practise the same both on and off courses.

| I dont think you can stop that from happening. On the course, its understandable that you have to keep quiet while the person is hitting or attempting to hit. Hence, i dont think its applicable on the range.
If it irritates you, you don you pribg an IPOD and listen to some music?

| Personally I felt talking still ok, it's range only. But I cannot understand why some players bring gf/wife along and they start watching movie from ipad or tablets at high volume. | |

| Can't choose your company at public access areas. Either go to top most flr ... Or go at odd hrs. On top of tat, can always give dirty looks to those who are making too much noise or are distracting? | |

| I don't think you should let such things bother you.....unless of course, they're eating durians at the range......u shld try to block it out so you can block out distractions on the course......nothing bothers/distracts me at the range....except of course some of the girls wearing tight clothing in the bays next to me.....then i get both hot and bothered........
seriously though, TW's father used to jingle keys, cough, etc in his backswing to strengthen his concentration......i've always felt that golfers with rabbit ears are just looking for an excuse as to why they hit a bad shot.......
after all, it's a driving range not a library.......

| Wow i didn't know it can be as bad as car got scratched. I do like the idea of wet kisses though!
I suppose after reading so many replies and none of you guys have a problem with what i've encountered. I probably should just accept it as a norm or treat it as a mental's training.
