Lo-Hei Game Details

Date/Day: 8 Feb 12, Wednesday

Time: TBA

Tee-Box: Blue tee for men, red tee for ladies

Format of play:

Fourballs Matchplay -
All four players play their own ball throughout; at the end of each hole, the low score between the two partners on each team is that team's score.
For example, Players A and B form one team. On the first hole, A scores a 5, B scores a 6, so the team score is 5 which will be used to fight the other team's best score. Only the best score will be used. The 2nd player's score will NOT be used. That is to say in the event there is a tie e.g. both teams score 5. It will be a draw. There will be no fight between the 2nd pair of scores.

So the two pairings will fight thru out the 18 holes. At the end of the 18 holes, the winning pair gets 2 pts, nil for the losing team and 1 pt each if it ends in a draw.
Accumulate the points for the other 7 pairs to determine the eventual winning team.

Special Rule

1) For this game, the local rule of free lift for flower beds at MBGC will NOT apply. That is to say, if a golfer hits the ball into the flower bed, pick up, drop and incur 1 stroke penalty. NO FREE LIFT.

Wager:

* Figures illustrated below are projected figures based on last year's dinner.
Actual price TBA.

1) Losing Team pays 70% of dinner and Winning Team pays 30%.
That is each losing team member would subsequently pay $41 to the winning team member playing in the same flight. ($41 was calculated as 70% of $58.60 per diner, based on 3 tables of $498 dinner working out to $1,758.43, including GST and service charge)

TD, kindly clarify to avoid any doubts: blue tee is the normal/usual blue as stated on the mbgc website/scorecard or the moved-back blue on Wednesday's?

Does it matter? Just play frm the blue tees la. Whether they pull it back to the blocks or if they push it to the whites!

Ofcoz la we play whatever tee, but i like to know what i'm playing for la, no surprises, prepare accordingly esp for short hitters....Pls lor, wont hurt to know in advance rite?

Of coz lah, our balls position are in the center and tend to push the clubs up, preventing it from aiming accurately... Bob, does it mean your club sit nicely between the balls or the balls tend tend to be further forward your stance?

Note: we are referring to golf here...

the clubs always above the balls and aiming with the club face, so why need to look for ball??
Must look at the target to aim mah..
