Does anyone know a good driver or transportation company? I will need a ride from central area to golf courses for 5 days. Is itbeasy to find taxi there? How much is the normal rate?

The normal rate for 1 day hire a van with driver is 2400 baht. Plus petrol.
Taxi is not real practical here in chiang mai. They don't turn on the meter for you. So price varies.

It is better to organize a hire van. More flexibility for you as well. The hire rate is for the whole day.

If you need help. I can

As long as don't go Bangkok city centre, I think the rest of Thailand should be ok.

Hows the weather there around august? We are undecided if we do bandung or chiang mai. You also conduct bootcamps in CM? Can you send me the program? Thx.

FWIW,
One of  my my better  experiences of golf in was  CM.  the courses there were scenic , challenging, and well maintained. Food wise, in thailand, always aroi mak mak (very delicious)
i think a better season for CM may be in dec jan or  feb when it is much cooler. Cos being quite inland away from the sea, it can be very hot in summer.

Bandung, i hvnt been, but heard it is on higher altitude, much cooler.
Definitely a golfing destination to be on the must play list.

Just back from CM.
Played : Chiangmai Highland, Maejo & Alpine: All the course condition are good, green well maintain. Alpine tough rough. After played there back to JB, you can feel much different, today played Tanjong B you can feel ours course like jungle, rough not maintain, green many sand.

Hotel stayed Centara DaungTawan Hotel: Not bad near to night bazaar.

Any trustworthy agents to recommend? Too lazy to arrange for hotel, golf and transport. Planning to go in Jan, read about the good weather in Jan.

how about easy math
hotel       $60
Transport $60
Green fee $60
Food       $60
             $240 per day
Not including air ticket
                   dried longang
                   rub rub or .......

or U can get budget airticket, stay at backpack hotel, choose sports day, ask the backpack operator to get U a private taxi and eat at road side.

For my trip. including hotel for 3 nights+breakfast, 3 games (Chiangmai Highland (PM), Maejo(AM) and Alpine (AM)), airport pick up+daily golf course transport + 3 days massage after golf game (day 1: an hour, day 2 & 3: 2 hours) = 16500 Thai Baht, not including lunch and dinner.
If you need tour agent kindly let me know.

Which transport company did you arrange to fetch you to Highland, Maejo and Alpine?

What are their rates?

Which tour agent you engage?
