| Hi need advice on Chiang Mai.
Shortlisted Inthanon as looks good from pictures. Anyone has experience playing there?
I wish to find an easy course as I will be playing with my wife and I want to enjoy and relax instead of struggle to reach the green.
Appreciate any inputs here. Cheers.

| I still think that CM Highland is the best, not saying Alpine is no good but Alpine is more tricky especially the rough is really tough. Last time Royal CM is sklightly cheaper but not very nowadays its rate. If you are first time to CM, Highland, Alpine & Mae Jo should be better choice. | |

| Green valley is quite a flat course but long distance, certain holes are difficult but for me it still OK. Royal CM the bunkers design is facing to tee box looks like waiting for you to go in but still playable. Mae Jo is the course converted from Longan/Lychee/Pomelo orchard, certain holes are blind holes which you cannot see the green. Listen to caddy explanation, most of the courses caddy are experience and you need to listen to their advice especially reading the green. | |

CM Highland is the course that you can enjoy the course layout, good condition, nice green, good club house. Alpine is too difficult for beginner (My personal opinion)

CM Highland is the course that you can enjoy the course layout, good condition, nice green, good club house. Alpine is too difficult for beginner (My personal opinion) SP is right, Alpine has more water hazard to cross. I remember hole 9 has a mini sand beach to cross.

| I was there from 5-9 Jan. Played Mae Jo, Alpine and Summit Green Valley. Weather wise was hot but not humid. Caddies were good in Mae Jo but not in Alpine and Green Valley. | |

| Just back from Chiangmai, played Ithanon, Summit valley, Alpine and Chiangmai highland. Personnelly I like Chiangmai highland and Ithanon. Alpine is good and challenging but the caddies a bit look down people if you're not very good. Summit valley ground is quite hard, as there have cow grass mixed on the fairway. We used Cue Holiday.

| we stayed 1 night at Ithanon (resort hotel and don't expect much from there) as the travel distance about 1 hr from town. The rest stay in Chiangmai (central hotel near night market), daily transport only 30 minutes to Alpine, highland or even summit, which is fine. | |

Any thins to share? my golfing experience in Chiang Mai - 15/3/15 - played at Royal Chiang Mai - not difficult. 16/3/15 - Alpine - a beautiful and well maintained course with fast green. Not too tough for me (hcap 18). Only allow to play white tee cos the distance on blue is damn long 18/3/15 - Highland - another beautiful and well maintained course with fast green. This country club is hell of stuck up. They don't allow visitor to bring their own drinks, beer, food, no outburst of anger, any intentional damage caused to the course, one will be penalised with 5,000baht per inch of damage. unable to judge the difficulty cos I score 94 there 19/3/15 - Maejo. Cow grass. To me , it was difficult. Lots of ob, hazards, green not as fast as Highland. Hotel - PornPing Hotel doorstep to Chang Klan night bazzar. Food I tried near Chang Klan night bazzar- go The Duke (try white pizza) Go The Kitchen (try Daddy Pizza), Go Silat Aat seafood (not expensive. 1 kg of red snapper about 400-450baht) Shopping - left/right /centre , all pasar malam. Shop and bargain till u drop. Weather - 18-21 degree. cooling. One will not sweat while golfing. Massage - go to Le Best (2nd choice) or "Lets Relax" (1st choice) - traditional massage, common room. Feel free to ask any qns. I try to ans.

| Highland - Not even allowed to bring our own mineral water and bananas? The part abt no intentional damage to course I can accept as think its fair. | |

Mineral water, banana, bread, etc not allowed. however, u may smuggle whatever you wana bring by putting in golf bag. After hole 1, take out to consume. Buying beer from store is about 35-45baht per can, Highland sell 107baht for 1 can of beer. If you have 6 golfers, they will split you guys to 3/3 pairing, 4 & 2 disallowed. Green fees - I am not sure. I pay SGD960 for 4 rds of golf, airport/golf/hotel transfers, driver attached to us till 9p.m. Sightseeing - u can book at hotel lobby. A place to visit is the Golden Temple (Doi Suthep). It will cost 500baht per pax. Avoid River cruise cos there is nothing special about cruising the mae ping river.
