just saw the newspaper that the child's mother become the target for the outrage....

sigh !!!...i'm totally speechless.....extremely sad !!....

Apart from the drivers and passerby who are so ridiculous... The mother also at fault! Which mother will left her 2yrs old child unattended near a roadside and din realise her child is gone for so long... If the mother is attentive to her child, the disaster won't happened.

i think its wrong to blame the mother....

how to u know whats it like to be poor...

i'm not too sure whether the mother is at fault anot...being a parent myself.. i know it's extremely painful to lose a kid like that....

I would say the 2 driver and the 18 passer by are responsible for her death

As a parent, you have to be responsible for your kids especially at night near the road. You simply cannot expect other to watch out for your kids if you don't even do it yourself. They definitely know that no one will lend a helping hand if anything happens as it happened so many times in China.

So the parents and the 2 drivers are responsible. The first driver should share the most responsibility for this accident.

it seems like the driver purposely ran down the little girl.......
if im not wrong i read somewhere that in a car accident like this, most of the people will choose to kill the victim as they will be in even deeper shi* if the victim survives and sue for damages...

That is not the point.

It's not about the accident. Because accidents happen, no matter how careful you are. Accident happens. Such is life.

This is about being responsible when shit happens. It's about helping your fellow human. The driver should stop and send the kid for help. People who witness it should help the kid.

Read from another source. The parents had a shop nearby and the mother was serving a customer at that time. A 5 year old brother brought her out to play and they got separated. So who to blame?

you got your point there...however I simply do not understand why the FXXX driver ran her down just like that! I cannot accept the excuse that he did not see...worst still, not taking the trouble to come down to look rather ran over again..gosh..is that human???
s for the parent,, too bad this incident near their home.. assume that this happen outside say at the kindergarden,, or school... is the parent responsible? my point is that i do not say that their parents totally not to blame..but clearly this incidents show that there were no respect of human life at all! I wish that these people(18) get their retribution in due time!!!

What really irks me to the core are those people who walked by and did absolutely f'all to help the child. How do these people live with themselves?

IMHO, death sentence for the 1st driver and 20 years jail for the 2nd driver.

As for the poor little girl, I hope she is happier in Heaven then suffering in China.

As in all countries, the poorer you are the more you will be subject to sufferings. No examples are required.

When I select the kindergarden for my kids, I look at the traffic nearby and how the school handle the transport. I once witnessed the bus driver refused to open the bus door when a car parked at the gate. He came down and look for the driver and asked him to remove his car. Only when the bus door was aligned with the school gate, then he opened the door so that the kids walked directly into the gate. Now their primary school also practice a strict traffic safety control. We as parent can observe and can decide whether bring our kids to a safer environment.

The 2 drivers are as guilty whether he knocked down a 2 years or a 20 year old. The 18 passer by are as inhuman whether they ignore a 2 years old or a 20 years old lying with blood on the floor. However A 20 years old might choose to dash across the road at his own risk. The 2 years old does not even know what is a road. That's my point.

I agree with your verdict... the first driver is the source of the problem..he had commited first degree murder!

Where is the conscience of these people (the drivers and the passer bys) ? How do two drivers run over a girl and run away without any guilt feeling ? So does the passer by ?

I was not aware of this (did not read the papers) but watched it on CNN.com with a short video clip . It made me sick to the stomach for the remainder of today.

its is not about the blame....

it is about the essence of moral responsibility that is lacking in this incident....

Dave, she died just a bit later in hospital. I think its better this way as she must be in terrible pain with no hope of cure. Doc already proclaimed she brain damaged. Sad.....may god bless her.

God bless her....... must learn to treasure those ard us

I am puzzled. I heard from news that she passed away later that night but now, Yahoo news today continued to claim that she is better in Hospital...

It's not surprising everyone claims that they din see anything.. what would u expect ? All of them owning up and be remorseful ? Come on.. grow up folks.. we Hv lived long enough with them to know,.. all the shoving, pushing in the trains, markets, malls.. the spitting and shouting.. and all that in their adopted home in sg..

Would u think that they will be more civil back home ? I don't think so..
