Beginning of a golf addiction...

Hi all, I am 1month old in this game, and feel so addictive...

Currently taking a beginner course but after 7th lesson, my 7 iron still only manage 100m including roll... Hope to learn more from this forum.

Most of the time I goes to Bishan/sin ming golf range, cos I can find a bay most of the time,
and I am taking my lesson there too...
I tried Marina Bay a few times, and usually its jam pack in the evening.

Sorry, I still very new, where or what is SSN?

I would like to go to the gathering at marina bay golf range on wed to meet up with you guys, but I am still having my golf lesson at bishan every wed evening.
And secondly, I am shy with forum meetups...

Is there a orientation ic there to welcome the newbie?? Smile

Hi there,

SSN is Starry Starry Night at Marina Bay range every Wed where a few of us would meet up for range, chit chat (mostly) and also getting poisoned in golf equipment.

Haha. No IC but just a bunch of passionate golfers around to welcome you.

My name is Ed.... Im also new in this game abt 2 mths.. I did not take any lesson but i improve by self taught... my golfers fren told me to practice with PW and 7 iron only for 3 mths... yesterday i start to practice my 6 iron and i can hit 150m..... I always goes to Toa Payoh driving range. Im staying at Toa PaYoh Central. Myb we can share some tips if we meet up..... BTW if u guys need a personal trainer to strengthen ur muscle, do let me know cos im working as Personal Trainer.... Very Happy

Wow! 6 iron hit 150m after 3 months of golfing.. Emu... you got potential lah!
I play so many years 6 iron only 135m, shy lah!

Myb due to my big size and the new iron i bought really suit my swing. Even my golfers frens don believe at first so i ask him down n he saw himself.... and all thks to him also cos he is d one that taught me some golf movement..... Razz

Length matters, but short game equally important in golf...

Whatever outcome, i guarantee you will enjoy your game..
It's probably also the only time we "drink and drive" at 10am.

hahaha... yeah that's what important...

I think we need to make it more fun. Make rule there's no drinking on the course except if the drink contains at least 10% alcohol or more....

I think we will laugh more.... And I think I will need those Magnetic GPS located balls Razz

Cannot lah! i am still driving after the game.. So max 2 cans for me, before 10am, so that alcohol will be "dissolved" by 2pm when we drive back. affraid

SSN is gathering of GR - well, I only ever came once (due to work, most wednesdays I'm not in Singapore!)
Last time I was there, I got an impression that there are regulars: miss moon, sunny, asahi, mloy, wilkang... bring your clubs, you can hit a few balls and get some tips as well Wink

I am learning to play golf through my friend and plenty of videos..
and practice them...

I hope to get to at lest a good level b4 I can play on courses.. Smile

I am started to get addicted.. since I don't have football kakis to play.. golf can play by yourself...

They say as you go up the corporate ladder, you ball gets smaller.
From football to golf ball, it's a big jump up the ladder.
Congratulations!!

Do note that playing ball alone is never fun.
Golf is no exception.'
It usually takes at two balls to play...

Do join us soon to practise on Wednesday nights at the driving range (starry starry night)
And at the golf courses in JB, before you get your PC and handicap card.
There will be many in GR willing to give you a hand, and a leg (kicking you when necessary).
