| Have been playing poorly recently because of the rain. The ground is always muddy (was in sembawang) and the sand are hard. I keep fatting my iron; any advice. Thanks. | |

| Not much of advise from me since I am not a good player yet. However, in mental game, remember everybody will be playing in the same wet condition as you. If your golf buddies have the same hcp or skill level as you and they can play well .. then not you ?
As long as you have not fear in any condition you play in. Do not even think that you will hit flat because it is wet during your address .. you will not ...
Always do a practice swing and keep to your normal routine before the actual swing ...
As for hard sand .. try to use a less bounce wedge and do more of the up and down swing rather the round the body swing ...

| "Ask the pro" thread is kind of moot point when it comes to fixing someone's swing fault | |

| 2 key things which I have learnt the hard way of playing in the rain are:
1. Play one club up
2. I used to take alot of divot due to the soft ground...now, I up one club..and go easy on my swing..focussing on taking the ball clean...

| Lets just say the rubber range mat or a firm lie help disguise some swing flaws, especially ones that cause the fat shot.
the club just dun bounce as much on Wet ground as on the other two lies

Mate I dont want to be harsh but if you hit "fat" shots it will not make any difference if the ground is wet or not, a fat shot is a fat shot.... The only difference maybe you get a bit muddier when ground is wet.....

Very difficult to offer solid advice when all you get is a one line question..... of course we want to help, but we are not Genies.... sometimes is better to say nothing.... Old Kiwi quote! "Is better to say nothing and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

Hey SH, you sure this saying is Kiwi Quote ???? Sounds too Confucius to me .... I am always confused...... we had this sign hanging over toilet when I was growing up.... Along with one that said, "we dont swim in your toilet so please dont piss in my pool" Never understood that we did not have a pool.......

Old Kiwi quote!
"Is better to say nothing and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt" yup, thats what i meant too...no pics, no vids. So its moot to ask the pro...even if there are pics, a real solid advice comes from personal lesson. Ask the pro, for me, is good for e.g. rules, swing theory, tour inside info, course mgt, history etc Fixing our swing? Not the place

| Bro, try this tip..without changing ur swing, no harm trying On the range, put a cig butt 3-5cm in front of your ball. Focus on the butt and hit the butt. Forget the ball. Still duff, then must go to a pro la | |

| since now raining, the range mat will be wet, you can see where the splash starts and that is where you make contact with the ground | |

| I used to hit alot of fat shots... thats why the name duffy.... did an analysis with a head pro in WGCC and we notice there was a slight casting on the downswing. Thats why even the shifting of ball position didnt help. My only advice on wet grounds.... shorten back swing and hit it like a ball below feet and clip the ball as clean as possible. Nevermind if you top it sometimes cos top, the ball will still go straight.... and on wet grounds, it will hydroplane.... | |
