Bro, i am not that young lah.... although i didnt buy, but my dad bought during those days... but during that time, marlboro, only 2.50, petrol, i think less than $1 per litre, and there is not freaking ERP and the parking is reasonable.... cannot compare..... | |

| My gawd, with this type of pricing. I think no one want to relinquish their car anymore. Even they have to, they would rather extend the COE for another 5 yrs to wait and see. Also, because they are worried that they cant afford another one after that.

I am young but I remember my dad's Nissan sunny was that price of $150k! Crazy COE! We are about the only country that needs to buy a paper to be able to drive cars. | |

| Do you know that at that time, a lot of car owners sold off their car for a profit after driving it for 3 years ??? It was an appreciating asset at that time and not like now, a depreciating asset. Wonder if it will happened again? What goes round must come around again sometime. Wonder if the time has arrived ??? Mine coming to 3 years liao... | |

| COE is garmen way of help us to save money. U see, you buy a car, and after 10 years, you get back the COE value....if you think about it, its macam endowment plan.
So when times are good (ie bull run), garmen afraid many will splurge on shares...so COE will go up, then garmen indirectly help the buyers to save for 'rainy day or days'

The only problem is that i need a car. Mine coming to 1 year old.. and if sell now looking at the crazy 2nd hand car price... can make a 20-30K profit!! imagine a near 2 yrs 5K COE car selling 20K above what i paid for while my COE was at 22K when I bought my car.. I wonder who will buy these 2nd hand car... | |
