MBGC raises range ball prices

Fyi, if you had missed out. Not sure if this had been posted before.

Revision of Range Ball Charges starting 1st January 2011

Marina Bay Golf Course has always strived to provide all golfers with an affordable and enjoyable golfing experience. In particular, driving range users have regular access to quality range balls and range facilities.

However, energy and maintenance costs of the driving range have been rising over the years. With costs expected to increase by more than 50% next year, we regret that we are no longer able to maintain the same range ball charges since 2007.

With effect from 1st January 2011, our range ball charges from 6.15pm onwards will be adjusted upwards by one cent per ball to offset night lighting costs of the driving range. Charges for the other timings remain the same.

Below is a summary of the revised range ball charges:
Day Timing Charges (Per Ball)

Weekdays
(Excluding Public Holidays)

7.00am to 3.59pm (off peak) - 4 cents
4.00pm to 6.14pm (peak) - 6 cents
6.15pm to 10.15pm (night) - 7 cents

Weekends and Public Holidays

7.00am to 6.14pm (peak) - 6 cents
6.15pm to 10.15pm (night) - 7 cents

Charges are subject to the prevailing GST. Golfer will be able to dispense 75 or 150 balls during off peak hours and 50, 100 or 150 balls during peak and night hours.

As we continue our utmost effort to provide quality range conditions for all users, we seek your understanding on the price adjustment.

Thanks for the heads-up. It was inevitable if you ask me. Given the number of golfers who frequent MBGC, this was certainly going to happen.

OK....so who is volunteering to go at 7am and buy 10000 balls and then we buy fm 'Distributor' at 4.5 cents ?

ok la...$2 increase for 100 balls. $4/$5 increase total per month for me to attend SSN.

I think I will spend a lot more on Mloy next year if she continues her good form.

Can this be considered low-balling? Based on demand and pattern of use, I believe a more reasonable rate of 5.5 cents will be more enticing...

Luckily I been used to doing virtual training all this while......

0800H - 1700H: Driving Range, 1000 balls

Day 2:
0800H - 1200H: 18 hole

Day 3:
0800H - 1700H: Driving Range, 1000 balls

Day 4:
0800H - 1200H: 18 hole

Day 5:
0800H - 1700H: Driving Range, 1000 balls

Was thinking for quite some time...i think as long as there's a net to catch all the balls...should be ok, right? Just make sure that patch up the divot holes...

Anyway, people flying kites there also, so I think should be ok, if u set up the net away from the flats and kite flyers.

I dun think hitting balls into a net can help anything, cos you cannot really see the trajectory of your balls so in other words, quite useless. thats why there are launch monitors and trackman to ensure that your ball flight is tracked.

This morning I already saw one lone guy in the middle of the field at sengkang near the mosque at buangkok there practicing chipping loh.
