How to identify a seasoned beginner Empty
PostSubject: How to identify a seasoned beginner   How to identify a seasoned beginner I_icon_minitimeMon Nov 15, 2010 1:41 pm

courtesy Pushslice

Usually he has been playing this game for a while (5-6 yrs minimum) and is faced with a barrier to break 90 or 85, due to various reasons as "self-confessed" lack of talent, strength, time or budget to practice, or due to other phobias etc. His game would go like below:

1. play short but always keep it in the fairway. A repeatable swing is better than flush-duff-slice-flush-thin swing. Swinging less than full is a big clue of SB's swing school!
2. GIR is not relevant, lay up at all times but .....
3. One chip one putt to frustrate his opponents
4. Putt no more than 33 times a round (see step no.3)
5. Make his birds on par 3s
6. Accept that he will take extra strokes on long par 4s and 5s yet
7. the rest are pars or bogeys
8. last but not least, declare he is a lousy player with all the shortcomings

How to identify a seasoned beginner Empty
PostSubject: Re: How to identify a seasoned beginner   How to identify a seasoned beginner I_icon_minitimeMon Nov 15, 2010 1:50 pm

thanks Bro...few more tell tale signs, sometimes not always

1. Old school equipment, usually peppered with "Indian not the Arrow" comments
2. Graphite shafts, usually peppered with "I'm old already, how can?" comments

to clarify: declaring his shortcomings is not buaya-like but inspired by wuxia grand masters (as in the higher the skill of gong fu master, the more humble they are)

Hope this helps other forumers Beer

if this hypothetical lady wins by mastering the art of asking strokes. Then she is no SB, she would be a confirmed croc ROFL

1-2-3 ...? does it mean par3 = 1 mulligan, and so on?

The main way to identify a seasoned beginner is that they're spending too much time on this forum engaging in idle chatter such as this topic.
