To me, this is one of those driver that's go reasonably long, straight and easy... Hate the look at address and I hate the sound, though!

Thanks! There's a promotion for this at Pan West now, going for $299, wondering if it is a good deal for a beginner like me?

Personally, if u r a VERY new beginner, like me, 4mths old, then I'd strongly advice u to grab
a S$100 10.5 driver n whack 1st.... At least that's for me. Good luck..

To be honest, if you are a beginner, whether you bought a $20,000 Honma Driver or a $30 driver,
you will get the same result and heart pain. Reviews won't do you any good at this point because you still can't hit it correctly yet. Go digest on this and decide. Crying or Very sad

Give him a chance lah, it may be possible that as a beginner, he may be able to hit driver decent but maybe other areas of game still not so good

dont be too quick to shoot and assume he cant hit driver correctly...

my 2c anyway, since you already said in your BT post, a 20 handicapper can also shoot a 78 so who knows...

I started off buying a TM burner 07 that cost me $430.
Am still using it n very reluctant to change it thou I have a few other drivers.
My impluse buying of the driver was also the reviewof the driver from some golf magazines.
Ideally go for demo and have a few hits at it before deciding.
Good luck..

ChrisD,
why reluctant to change? is it because you prefer the $430?

Thanks to the rest, I think it's great to get all the different perspectives on this, be it dun buy, buy a normal one, and so forth. thanks!

Because it is still one of the best driver on the (used) market and certainly one of the best driver TM has ever produced this side of a 282.

Buy a 2nd hand for less than $200 and try 1st. Tituman's point is very valid.

well, it all depends on a person, some people do not like second hand clubs... when i started, i refused to buy anything second hand... it really depends on your budget and you personal feelings... i think its extremely important to like not just the way a club plays but also the way a club looks... this is just my two cents... cheers

Shamusan, I undestand yr point. And on kg's point, perhaps I should just try a few more times someone's FTiQ driver before deciding!

tohkh,

best is to drop by Pan West for demo. Pan West at Sembawang Country Club should be able to let you demo at the driving range. Not sure about the other Pan West outlet.

Review should be viewed with a pinch of salt as driver is personal. Some like particular head design, some like the particular sound produced and some go for the weight.

So it's best to try it, though $299 is really a good buy. If not wrong, think Pan West is also having promotion for Diablo Edge. Could try both.

Just a thought. Beer
