Do be careful. Not even safe in cars. It could be worse on a golf course. More trees, more luck.
Kinda sad to see such news. At least npark inspecting the trees. Wonder if our golf courses' management would do inspection.

| Saw the picture in paper, the picture paint a thousand words on the pain and sorrow. Very sad indeed. My personal condolences to the family going through this.
1st there was flood, then there is more flood, now you have death. I don't know what else can be shown to PUB on importance their role to up keep public maintenance. I just pray and hope that the pain and sorrow is not in vain.

| My Dad had a similar experience in KL. He was driving out of the golf course in the evening when there was very heavy rain. One of the trees uprooted and collapsed over his car. The entire tree covered his car and he was stuck there for some time.
To give you some perspective, when the rain had subsided, the authorities only realized that there was a car under the tree because he had honked over and over again. They simply could not see his car. And, he was driving a volvo which was a pretty big car too!
Anyway, the car was a complete wreck but he was uninjured. The extent of the damage was immense. BUT, that's volvo for you. Incredibly safe. The steel frame protected him from the weight of the tree. It took the brunt of the force.
Dad still plays golf these days but will always remind me that when it rains, get the heck inside.

| Passed by the place and saw the car after they have removed the tree. It was a total wreck. Nowadays if driving by Thomson road must look out for traffic in front of you and the trees above you....Multi tasking | |
