I have a set of CG1s that had their grooves refreshed by the previous owner. You need to be careful with them, else it is easy to miss and end up scratching the outside of the grooves. It's probably not allowed for PGA-sanctioned play, but for recreational golfers, the sharp grooves bite the ball a bit better.

I'll be bringing my CG1 irons back to Singapore tomorrow, and will leave them at BFG for anyone who wants to buy or try them out to see how sharper grooves play, or just to get a set of blades for cheap Smile

may sure you wear welder's glove when working with them. i think we have some in the shop.

firstly secure your irons. then go easy and shart to sharpen the grooves, its not how hard you go through them but do it smooth and firm...repeat this process and you will find that your grooves are now more pronounced.

My favorite golf gadget, i just bought one from www.groovesharpener.net a month ago it is great, made my wedges play like new again.
A friend of mine is a teaching pro, he has a device to measure the grooves and he said they were within the legal limits after regrooving.
Hope this helps.
Mike

Thanks for the input guys,

Especially to Mike Mossey.

Thanks for providing the www.groovesharpener.net link. When I looked at that site the groove sharpener was the same as my buddy had.

OK - So I will now buy one from the site above and will post again as soon as I have used the tool and played a few shots.

Now onto my next gadget - but don't tell the wife LOL !

Hi Guys,

Well my groove sharpener arrived a few days ago - I followed the simple user instructions that came with it - all in all it took me around 15 mins to regroove all my irons ( mizuno ) and wedges ( vokey ).

Played a round yesterday - and like wow - it really does work - my control has never been better - my golf buddies were suprised to say the least. I won't let on to them about the tool until the next round we play - I want to kick their asses 1 more time LOL.

I appreciate all the feedback you guys gave to me - thanks again.

Hi Guys,

Seeing this, I too just placed an order for the sharperner today. Like to check with you guys on how long it took for it to arrive?

Thanks!
