In a different life, there were may issues with organising this form of events. Some were trying to profit from it, while some were lying about trying to profit from it... The questions you asked are prudent. The reason why the quantum of the donations are small is because we are leaving the decision to add on a larger amount to the individuals. Yes, the conparison of $20 vs the green fees, makes the $20 seem insignificant. Ironically, without the hard work of the organisers, we wouldnt even get the $20. Choices are always a good thing. Forgive us if we have come across as being overly defensive. If you feel victimised, two things have unfortunately happened. 1. replies were too offensive. 2. you have played golf with us before. Thats where the saddam happens. for issue 1. Sorry... for issue 2, were we betting?

Bro, why on earth would you feel victimized? Simply, your opinion (as I mentioned) was valid and has good basis. What I think you should realize, however, is that while you are entitled to an opinion, the rest are too. People are bound to disagree which is the basis of a forum. As such, you should not feel victimized at all. In fact, appreciate the discussion So, please please try and participate in the golf game. It would be a great way to meet people and you'll see that no one here is trying to victimize anyone... 'cept for those buayas out there

| Hi golfguru,
I thought my previous clarification is clear enough. This is just a get together game by our forum members. We decided to hold it as a tournament style as we have sponsors who had contributed prizes.
The contribution is not very significant as we want to leave the choice of contributing more to the members. Remember that the old lady who gave away the 2 copper coins is held in higher regards. So we let individual contribute to what they feel comfortable.
As for appointing an independent auditor for such contribution is really ridiculous. I would rather the sum of money goes to charity instead. The green fees and admin fees are transparent for everyone to see. The amount we contribute is also transparent.
At anytime, we would let people inspect the account and should anyone feel that someone has pocketed money, 999 is always available.
Many of the forumers had bad experience with a phantom user known as inferno from the past. If you genuinely want to do something for charity, you may write a cheque to Autism Association (Singapore) instead. In fact, I had earlier offered you to pay only for the green fee and issue a cheque to the charity directly but the offer was not taken and the slots are now fully filled.
I am sorry if you feel victimised but I can rest assure you that it is not the case. You have a valid point if we are soliciting public donation etc. But remember, none of us get paid here. In fact, we spend our personal time and money coordintating, booking, do up stuff for the forum. Those charity drive organisers have paid staff etc and therefore needs to be audited by law to ensure that the amount going to charity should not fall under a certain threshold. For our case just remember, the green fee is $130 plus other charges which are normal cost of playing the game. 100% of the rest collected goes to charity. To make it simpler, we just collect $150 instead of telling ppl pay this amount for the game and this separate amount for charity.
Hope I have clarified enough and have a nice day.

| Bro Golfguru, dun feel victimise, as long as wen xin wu kui, or as long as never did anything wrong, all will be forgiven. It is just that the organisers were trying to organise a private charity golf cum social game, and than you know wat happen lah....
well I think all your points are valid for considerations for next game and hope that you can come into the forum more often and join us for another social game and you discover the friendliness of the pple here once the barrier have been broken. UL , correct or not ?
BTW, you call yourselg Golfguru, so you must be a very good player, so how many strokes are you giving...hehehehe
