Since I am unable to read the daily Singapore newspaper here. May I just know what is his age and what really happened ? Straits Times Singapore, 5 Jun, 2010, Saturday Body of golfer found floating in pond in Sentosa By Alexis Cai THE body of a businessman was found floating in a pond at the Sentosa Golf Club yesterday morning after his family reported him missing two hours earlier. Mr Heng Jui How, 65, had been playing at the club the day before in a corporate tournament, but when he still had not returned home at 5.30am yesterday, his family called the police. A family friend said they found his car still parked at the club. When daylight broke at about 6.45am, the club’s course marshal guided the family and the police through the course to search for him. Mr Heng was eventually found floating face-down in the 4m deep pond. The golf buggy he had been using was also found fully submerged in the water. Mr Heng was not a member of the club and had been there only for the corporate event, said the golf club yesterday. The pond Mr Heng was found in is near the last of the 18 holes at the Serapong course. It is not clear how Mr Heng, who owns a furniture and renovation business in Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park II, fell into the pond. It is also not known how no one noticed that he did not get off the course. Golf courses usually require golfers to play in flights of four. At the end of the game, scorecards have to be returned to the club and the buggy accounted for. The golf club said the tournament was attended by 55 participants. Mr Heng was among one of the last flights, with two flights after him. The club said it is still looking into why Mr Heng’s buggy and scorecard went unaccounted for. It said that its marshal, who usually trails the last flight of players, did not come across anything unusual when he cleared the course at the end of the event. Police are investigating how Mr Heng died. The Straits Times understands that Mr Heng had been complaining of chest pains earlier in the week. At the family’s terrace house in Hougang last night, the wake for Mr Heng, who is married with two children, was ongoing. His son, Mr Daniel Heng, said the family did not want to comment.

I really appreciate that you took the time to post the the whole story. bugaboo How it is possible that he is playing alone ?? 2 flights behind him and none saw his body ? Something does not sound logic at all. I hope the police better do a good investigation on this. Condolences to the family.

| Just back from the wake. as the case is still be investigated, I can't review much except to say the newspaper only share the outline of events. Many questions remain unanswered, like
1. where are the flight mates when it happen ? 2. how could they finish the game without him ? 3. how did the two flights(or one) behind him not notice the buggy in the pond. Maybe it did went fully submerged ( 4 meters is enough to fully submerge a buggy ) 4. don't the club care if one buggy is unacconuted for at the end of the day? surely they know who/which flight took which buggy.
many more questions.. guess the next time I play, I better get to know my flight mate well and make sure we take care of one another...

| The drowning of a businessman in a 4m-deep pond at Sentosa Golf Club in June has been ruled an accidental death, according to the coroner.
According to police investigations, Mr Heng Hui How, 64, was driving a golf buggy which could have hit a kerb and gone into the water.
On June 4, the buggy was found fully submerged while Mr Heng’s fully-clothed body was floating face-down about 15m away from the edge of the pond.
Earlier on June 3, he had been playing golf with two flightmates for the first time at a corporate tournament. His flightmates were sharing a buggy while Mr Heng was alone in another.
He was last seen packing his umbrella by the two flightmates who later noticed that he was not behind them, and assumed that he might have decided to stop and head back to the clubhouse.
Mr Heng’s family members mounted a search for him in the early hours of June 4 when he failed to return home.

I remember a game in Palm Villa (early part of the year), there was a buggy (gal flight) got stuck.....WAH SEI!!!!! immediately, 2 gentlemen ran towards it and start to exercise their muscles to lift it out fm the pot hole or something, and ensrue that the buggy got back on track Needless to say that becos of the overuse of muscle, the gents next shots were all similar to doing landscaping.
