Which is the course with the volcano? Damo? Near Volcano ? I think you mean Mt. Bromo that with the very cool weather and a live volcano ? I do not know about any golf course over that area .. It is about 4 hours drive from Surabaya.
Bukit Darmo does not have any volcano. It is near some high end resident area and large shopping Mall.

cheers ... Here is just my personal opinion: Graha is easier course compared to Darmo. If no rain, Darmo would be fine, fairway is too wet if it rain. Both courses are only 10 mins away from each another.
Marriott is a 5 star Hotel same as Sharaton in the middle of the town. Sharaton is better as it is connect to a large shopping Mall. Marriott location, nothing. Both Hotels about 3 min drive from each other. At least, 45 min drive to golf courses of Darmo, Graha or Ciputra.
Java Paragon is a 3 stars but new and clean .. Std room 21.5 m2 about rp 598,000 (S$ 92.00) . Deluxe room 26m2 rp 638,000 (S$98.00) including 2 breakfast. Java Hotel to 3 golf courses above about 15 min drive. Btw, if you like to stay in better Hotel like Sharton or Marriott, try Shangri-La ( opposite to Paragon Hotal ) nice location I would say .. Pak Slicer51, am too a Singaporean residing in Surabaya. Do you go by the initial JT ? Let's keep in touch or perhaps for a round of golf soon.

Thanking you in advance. Bukit Darmo is one of my home course and it is one of the 4th golf courses that located about 5 to 15 mins to another 3 more courses (Ciputra, Graha and Pakuwon (18 par 3). Bukit Darmo was designed by Nicklaus. You will expecting allot of bunkers. In fact, every hole that were be bunker. From Blue Tee : it is 5,873 meters. course rating : 71.3, slope rating : 136 Condition is good as long as you do not play during raining season. IMHO : Worth playing as prices reasonable for weekday and weekend Ciputra has the best condition but not as tough as Dramo and prices rather expensive. Best challenge courses to play will be Finna and Taman Dayu (mountain courses). It about 11/2 to 2 hours drive from Surabaya. You just let me know when you going to play in Surabaya and I can pick you up and join you for a round, if I am around. PM me.

| Thanks bro Slicer51. We will be playing at Taman Dayu and Finna as well ... have another question ... suppose we play early at Bukit Darmo early in the morning, say 7am, and rush to airport to catch 3.30pm flight ... are we safe to catch the plane? Is the traffic jam in Surabaya as bad as Jakarta? Many thanks. | |

Surabaya traffic condition is very much better then Jakarta. Let says you do a 4 hours round and finished at 11 am. You need about 45 mins to the Airport from Darmo (max 1 hour). Darmo only 20 mins to hit highway directly to Airport. Hardly traffic jam in Sby highway compared to JKT (always jam). Btw, as you already knew. 1st light is about 5.15 am in Surabaya

You playing Sat pm in Darmo ? You might see me there. Sunday tee off at 12pm and try to catch flight out at 1840 might be too rush and tight for any courses. It is a Sunday, golf course will be crowded, you cannot finish at 4 pm. I suggest you better play morning .. usually allow to tee off at 10 am if I doing the booking (just kidding.. ask them, Sby golf courses have very nice beautiful peoples)
