| My new poison sticks just arrived a couple of days back, and I was able to game them yesterday with jurongtiger at Jumeirah Golf Estate's Fire course
The clubs
Retail 9015D Protoytpe Insight Tech A4 was shafted with a UST-Mamiya Accra SC65 M4 (stiff) shaft, 10.5* of loft
Tour-issued (no serial number) 9016D Prototype Insight XTD in 8.5* (with the LDA logo), shafted with a Fujikura Rombax 6Z08 stiff flex
Heavy winds yesterday, so it was very hard for me (being 6ft2) to maintain stability.
Played mostly with the 9016D. Up until this morning, I was not aware that the head was tour-issued, but I did notice that the head was especially solid feeling and BLOODY LONG.
While the 9015D was easier to play, it felt uncannily light but stable and I got an average of 270 yards easily. Accuracy was off as this was the first time I was playing with these clubs.
Cue the 9016D. Got to swing damn smooth with this one, and generate speed at the last minute, but let's just say my longest drives yesterday peaked at 380 yards (even with some tailwind, an extra 100 yards is hard to explain), with several reaching 340 yards easily. One thing I did notice, comparing the 9016D to the 9015D and to the L4V that I was gaming recently, was that there was an insane amount of roll from the 9016D, so much so that on several occasions, the ball rolled its way into a bunker, up the face and back out again.
Looks like I'll need some practice with this one, and I'll be back with more updates on this beast of a driver soon. I'll probably be bringing this one back with me to Singapore in July, and getting Eric to prescribe a shaft to match this beast against my swing speed. Perhaps a Kajiki is in the cards....

| ghoonk, nice to know you're finally found a head that makes you happy. Considering it is 8.5* and its low-spin characteristic, I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of rolls you generate is simply out of this world. But 100 extra yards... that's simply AMAZING! | |

| thats almost long drive range. Put in a 48 inch s haft and maybe 400 is no barrierMaybe if you tried the 8.5 9015d the distance will be closer. | |

Okay, my average drive is around 260 yds with my tour-issued TM Tour Burner 9* with the TM Diamana Whiteboard 63 in x-stiff. There is no way that the wind would add another 100 yds, and from what I saw at the driving range, I was getting around 240 yds carry, and there was quite a bit of roll. Keeping in mind that that fairway conditions are firm, I would say I got around 40yds extra out of this new driver, but it is going to take some time to groove my swing to this new club. Definitely heavier than the retail ones cos the retail 9015D felt like a toothpick in comparison Pictures will be coming up later in the evening, currently busy sorting out some stuff

Sure, will bring one or both back in July, maybe we can meet at the SSN session and you guys can have a go at it. The cosmetics of the 9016D aren't great, look pretty beat up, but it goes like stink Pics to follow much later tonight

| 380 yards. I witnessed that. In fact I was doing the math for Ghoonk.
I hit mine at the 240 yard marker (300 yd drive on the the Par 5) and was pretty pleased until the Hairy dude drove over and told me his ball was WAY IN FRONT.
Still cannot believe my eyes until today.
