Agreed. Saw this teen and his dad came to play. Dad was teaching the teen how to hit his iron consistently, so nobody cared, and the bays beside them filled up. After a while the kid takes out his driver, and bleedin crushes the ball a good straight 200m+ - and does it consistently on every shot. Dad gets irritated and tells him off, saying "It's not how you drive, it's how you arrive. Doesn't matter if you hit it a mile, if you can't control your scoring irons, u'll never improve." Son ignores and continues wacking the driver. The bays beside them empty out - and not just that, i go upstairs later to find my friend, and realize all the guys beside the father and son had left those bays to go upstairs!!!!!

That's why I love playing with my mother-in-law and match-up with other guys. She's used to play to a low single-handicap and can drive it about 210m easy and straight as an arrow. Best part is that she's about 60 and looks like a mid-sized aunty. We'll all saunter up to the tee boxes and they all assume that she'll play off the red tees but she'll play with us off the blues and the older gents who have ego issues will usually make excuses to scoot off after the first 9. Hehehehe......

saw something almost similar at the range. boyfriend was teaching girlfriend and he was holding her waist from the back and teaching her how to maintain consistent spine angle and hip rotation....no prize for guessing what he used to maintain contact with her hip.

unless we are pros, giving swing tips (wrong or correct) is just normal golf interactions. Everybody knows golf is more than playing well and getting low scores, its the gateway to many treasures.......
Giving tips is a friendly interaction.....worst antics are criticizing strangers cause he/she cannot swing. If i can swing good, i dont need to go range liao...happen a few times, although i cannot swing well, sometimes can go relatively long distance (the loud driver also helps make ppl think its long) so when the guys wife/gf start to 'copy' what i am doing instead of following her bf/husband's instruction, he will loudly say 'dont follow that guy lar, he dont know what he is doing..all wrong one......'. Sometimes also my wife will walk pass them and overhear the guys (the not so brave ones) telling his gf/wife the same thing. The worst is when he go and show her the 'real' swing, its the same or worst as mine, especially when the gf/wife remarks 'not as long as his leh'
The worst incident is at cruise!!!. i anyhow swing swing barefoot with their crappy 7 iron, a guy with his family walks pass, stop right behind me and starts loudly 'tsk tsk, all wrong......" after every one of my swings while his daughter is trying to pull him away from embarrassment.
The real 'pros' at MBGC all play quietly and mind their own business, while hitting 200m, high and straight with their 3 iron 100% of the time, while i am behind them, hitting 30% of my driver to 200m
BTW i only hit 200m with my driver. Think if i am reaching 230m++, the guy will not dare say much.

Both.
At MBGC, Bishan and Bukit Batok. Plenty of Range/PC pros and plenty of senior folks getting their hands on SYTs.
I was once victim. No! Not that some elderly gentlemen caressed my hand.
Some old men..
"Boy! Come here. Try my driver. It will be better for you."
"Boy! No. Not swing like that. You gotta do this this this..."
"Boy! You are wrong. You should do this little dance before you hit the ball..."
Now, I just give them those stare that would kill goats when they start looking at me with ideas.

Actually the most bizzare one which I experienced was at Pelangi Range in JB......
50+ yr old uncle came to my bay,,,look see look see for 5mins ....then walk up to me, just before my setup for my 7 iron (which only go 120m).....
Quote :
he said ' young man (which of coz I think he lie liao...coz I look and act like uncle)....your swing not bad (which again lie..coz my swing is more for gardening)...but no power (tats is true)
you want more power (of coz I worried...is he referring to my manhood??).....this will give more distance...
I look.....and see in his hand...a bracelet.......( I tot...NB...WTF....bracelet can give power meh??? ).....
Well, not really a swing tip...but a tip anyways...

Wilkang,
FYI, there's a previous posting from me about 'good' pubs in Duxton Hill/Tanjong Pagar/Neil Road area.
I think it was under 'where to find loose women & cheap beer' thread posted a few months ago.

Yes, they do catering for many corporate functions. I eat the S$10 three-course lunch there at least twice a week and know all the girls.
Just call or email Miss Joey Leong to find out the rates.
But they are NOT bargirls/GROs, only waitresses.
For 'friendly' bargirls/GROs, go to Paramount Shopping Centre, Duxtin Hill/Tanjong Pagar/Neil Road, Joo Chiat or Orchard Towers/Lucky Plaza/Ming Arcade.
Ladies drinks are from S$20 to S$60 depending on special services offered--nudge nudge!
