I've been too busy these past 2 months to even range, last I saw my clubs was back in January @ Palm Villa with a good bunch of GRians.

was playing at Daiman last wednesday and have a super long drive... written on scorecard that hole is 391m... the ball must have hit the buggy track for that extra distance...I left 90 plus metres to flag. sounds good but will confirm the distance next time with a gps...

my second shot went to the went right of the green... end up with a score worse than bogey....

long drive is good to have.... but no point trying too hard.

Sorry bros, as i'm from Malaysia. I only took up golf 4 months ago and i can never hit the driver or the putter worth a damn. My coach is also a pro from malaysia.
Anyway, i will try to video cam the technique next time when i'm with a friend on a range.

if you are hitting 250m with range ball...must be driving almost 300m on the course....

We have a bro here, according to our GR ians, who can one on Par 4 of over 400 m. But he played many many years before reaching this standard. Think for you by year end you can reach his standard.

Me, i'm just 170 about 75kg now and 30 years old.
Hahaha i'm homosapien but not as hairy though..
For the past 20 years i have been playing badminton but now ran out of kaki already so switch to golf.
That gives me an advantage coz i've been swinging my right arm like crazy for 20 years.
Plus being able to hit the sweet spot helps a lot

Tks for your frank revelation about yourself. Well sometime it does happen to a very athletic person. Maybe you happen to be one of them after all. They can adapt to new games /sports extremely fast but your achievement is a bit hard to take in. Maybe on hind sight, you should have taken up golf instead of Badminton and then maybe by now in you could be playing in the US PGA, who knows? Just like Vijay Singh who was an unknown until he broke into the PGA tour. Well maybe you could have your exercise regime video recorded for the benefit of mere mortal people like us so that they could improve just as fast as you. Then also show us how you achieved 250m drive within 4 months. Still sound too urealistic to people who had played for years and still could not hit distance shots even with professional coach giving them lessons. Hope to hear from you or when you are in Singapore, tell us when and I am sure the whole of GR will be interested to play with you just to see your prowess. Have a nice weekend.

Actually i have a hard tome believing it myself. I kept asking the other players who have been playing in the range if the distance is in yard. But they all says its in meter.
Like i said i just can't hit the sweet spot on the drive. My coach teach me the technique so i can swing it better and hit the sweet spot more consistently.
he thought me a few days ago and even using the hybrid, when i hit the sweet spot right, the ball will definitely past the 150m mark.
My senior, who is my coach's son has a very elegant swing. i could have sworn that sometime he drives the ball pass the far most netting of the range.
And sometime i could see that his ball pass the 200M mark and it keeps on climbing.

Pass 200m and climbing? That's some trajectory! *envy*

So when are meeting or the video ah? We (at least myself) are all sooooooo in need of this training

those who don't agree with me, pls see Andrew's 1.50-smash-factor-Driver-swing at the den and let me know if the sound of the Driver crunching the ball is not the sweetest crack for your ear.

From Hank haney's advice, speed equal distance. So a faster swing speed should give more distance.
Also, a wider arc and wrist hinge at top of swing will help too.

Just a thought to bring with you to the range. When we swing a golf club, we want to generate a club speed which is fast enough to blast the golf ball off the tee. But the question is how? Think left hand and faster lower body rotation and shoulder and right hand as dead as you possibly can. If all of us can keep this dead right hand and soft shoulder you WILL break 200m!

(By the way, you can buy the most expensive club head with the most expensive shaft but if the shoulder and right hand are stiff and active this driver can be the most expensive PW around)
