Which heavenly PUTTER is Ai Miyazato using ???

Managed to catch a few glimpse of the putting shots from the new 2010 HSBC champion.

Her long putting shots very solid....... it had holed in not once or twice but several times...

Read in the news that commened that she had no problems putting long but dread the short putt

Thought I saw her using a Odyssey 2 balls putter but do no know which one...

Anyone know ? ..... for sure the putter will be selling well in Japan .....

Owning the exact putter does not mean you will putt like her. Always remember this. if your putter could not hole for you, it doesn't mean your putter lousy. Remember who wield the putter? Its the Indian and not the Arrow.

Other than that. She has a tourstage driver and irons. I think woods too though I am not too sure

Yes, tourstage has some nice but very expensive equipment.
forged irons, esp the older models like the v300 series are classics

i also use Scotty but still miss all the 3 feet putts leh. Good arrows but in the hands of the wrong indian will become a useless weapon.

One thing i realised, is that after an intense game, a bit rest drink and food, they hit out to the range and putting for practice again, for at least an hour or two.

After the game, wat do we all do??? B---E-----E----R!!!!!

Actually, not so bad esp if you have a good arrow. Like that when Indian improves, it is done so with consistency.

I finding putting very challenging , need to read green and also know your putting speed. If putting speed changes vis-a-vis the green , then putting line also changes. So how fast the green is will directly impact your putting style and then the accuracy.

Wah......... you mean putting so complicating one ah ??? I always aim straight at the hole whether got slope or not. No wonder my score forever so high. Tsk tsk ..... why all my flight mates never tell me one lei. No wonder everytime I pay for drinks....sigh.......

Actually i prefer the caddy to just tell me if its a left to right or right to left break. He will not know how hard i will puttso no point he tell me where to aim... I usually get closer to the hole as compared to aiming at where the caddy thinks

Agreed tha use the caddie only as reference ... use own judgement tally against his/her advice.

U may be surprised somtimes the advice is even different from the actual...

Read from a Golf Tips Magazine on choosing the right putter.. Just some reference...

Setup at address with a ball placed out on the toe of your putter. Make your normal stroke without adjusting to the position of the ball. If the ball comes off dead and doesn't go very far it means you're a straight-back, straight through putter. If the ball comes off hot and rolls far, then you're making an arcing stroke.

Setup at address again but place the ball off the heel of your putter and make your stroke. If the ball comes off dead then your've made an arcing stroke. If it rolls a good distance then you've made a straight-back, straight through stroke.

After complete the test use the result to find the right flatstick. If you're a straight-back, straight through putter, try a face-balanced model. If you're an arc putter, try a toe-weighted model.

But magazine din say if you have 2 diff results from the 2 test then how lei??? hehe... so just try out and see whether it do helps in choosing your putter...

I would like to be on the opposite side of your advice regarding this. Many a times during play in Malaysia and Indonesia, I have encountered holes which are very dubious. It could be slightly left to right or right to left. Then taking a stand on lets say right to left slightly, the caddie lady/man said left to right. I sought of don't believe and take my own reading of right to left. The result ??? Left to right is the correct reading. This happens many times in those situation when it could be either or. Now adays when I have a dubious green reading and if they are around, I will ask them and take their advice. 9 out of 10 times they are correct. Just got to hand it to them as they are at the course day in day out. Just take a pinch of salt and believe them. 90 % is very good odds to me. JMHO

Well, good to have different opinions mate....

Perhaps I dun really like to put my fate on others hands or opinion.... but rather take their advice as a guide than to believe it religously....

Sure nobody can stop you from doing that. Except that my money paid to them is worth its weight in gold. I used to be as sceptical as you and on and off I still based on my own reading but everytime it turns out they are correct. Only recently did I follow their advice after hearing advice from one of our forerunner here by the name of Poresia. He swears that he follows their reading 101 % and he is very happy doing that. Well like I said, everyone is entitled to his own opinion but I, for one, have learnt my lesson and happy to take their advice anytime. Sometimes it could be wrong but most of the time they are correct because they are 'tan jiak' there.
