| To me, the brand 'ANSER' is very Ping....and very putter-centric.....very surprised that Ping has irons after them..
I luv Anser putter and will do give it a try

| Thanks Duval_S for the link. First impression looks really nice, and the overall shape quite similar to the i10 or i15. Agree need to give it a try at the range to really feel the new forge clubs. | |

| FInally they have Forged
I have tested the Cast Irons i series. I like it and the seller wanted to convice me to buy a set. But I have a "mental block" cos I do not want to pay more than $1000 for a Cast Irons
Cos I can get Mizunos MP52 forged for $1000 or less.
Now I may consider buying a set of Ping irons cos they now have forged.

| My take on this matter has nothing to with the irons.
btw, the irons look great and tempting enough for me to consider to make a switch. i got a putter on hand already to match those irons. *snigger*
For those who have tried Ping clubs will agree with me that Ping makes good clubs and the most surprising fact is that the only clubs they make are cast irons. Boy, those cast irons are good. I describe them as cast irons that feels like forged irons. Now Ping is making forged irons? Woah! Will that be even better?
I do not think so.
Why? For so long Ping has carved a niche for themselves by being quality cast irons makers, I think they should just stick to it. You can only continue to be the best that there is, by continuing what you are doing and refine the techniques or technology in your core. That is what I believe in, anyway. This again is up in the air for further debate.
I also had recent discussion with my dad on a similar issue, German car-makers. Mercedes Benz has always been a quality car manufacturer of premium saloon cars. BMW has been known for their powerful and high rev engines. Audi has been known for their smooth driving and handling. Look at the different offerings that they have today. E Class coupes from Benz, 3 door M3 from beemer and RS4 and R8s from the Circle Folks!!! Personally to me, E Class Coupes is like a weird creation of nature. Interesting to look at but I will never want to own one. 3 door M3? Perversion of nature!! THINGS ARE NOT MEANT TO BE CREATED THAT WAY. Do not want to own one and wish the world never had one. Its like having a cow that runs like a Mustang. Everything is so wrong. The R8s? Wooo… Out from nowhere. But this is like one of those weird things that are sent from heaven but we all like it. Machiam the wonder of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. Anyway, the changes in these market forces are just the companies trying to adapt to the changing market conditions and of course trying to retain the market share that they all once had. Yes. This is now turning into a business. No longer is the world interested in passion or new knowledge. Its all about the money.
Do you think Ping is now just new into forging can be better than other club makers that has been in this line for so long? Only time will tell.
I know there is many holes in my argument above and I contradict myself a lot. But that is how screwed up I think the whole thing is! Ping? Forged? The only sentence where I think those two words can come together is; Ping never make forged irons.

| Maybe PINg entered the forged irons market because their market intelligence had read so much about the goodness of forge irons fm this forum? So bo pian, need to grow their top line rev, so might as well come out forge.. | |

| hmm..
i think eventually whether Ping can made good forge iron, time will tell...
but of course, I hope more club makers make both good cast iron and forge iron, so that more choices for players, more competition in the market and eventually, it's us, the buyer, will gain, be it in terms of $$ or in terms of quality clubs....
so, go for it PING..keke !!
