| I had a mate who had been using TM clubs (driver, woods, irons and putter, etc) and no matter how hard he tried, he just couldnt go beyond 80s. Soon he been questioning whether the problem lies with his skill or the clubs. Any opinion on this

| bro ..
a few thing you can try.
1. you try his TM club..if ball flys, then maybe clubs is not the major problem 2. if he is new to the game, maybe get him a pro would be a better option to find out more
just my thought only

| ChrisD, the only way to find out is to get him to try a different set of clubs for a period about a year, then we can all see the answer clearly.
It would help if he uses tour-proven equipment. E.g., Scotties and stuff...

| when one had broken 80s or even playing to scratch, he will be looking into consistency, Consistence in score require Consistence in swing require Consistence in practice require Consistence in Time require Consistence in Income For equipment, Consistence in equipment require Consistence in visiting club fitter require consistence in swing require Consistence in practice require Consistence in Time require Consistence in Income So, ask yourself, how many consistence have you fulfilled? Poor me is still working hard to be " consistence in income" | |

| Many children has been nurtured to believe that one can achieve anything if one gives his/her best effort....
As such then, for me, I will say that it is the issue with the club....
Even today, I don blame my bad shoulder, my laziness, my bad course management, my screwup reading of green and my over weight self.......I just blame my clubs...
Stupid Driver...cannot go far and straight...still only carry 172.4m Stupid Irons....always top the ball, Stupid Wedge ....ball hit liao ,cannot bite Stupid Putter......aim and still miss the hole frm 3 ft...

disagree... we still need equip tht suits us.... cant possible ask a hard hitter to use a lady's flex... i do still believe fitting is important..if possible.. and the rest is hard work, determination n look for pro for fine tuning regularly.... my 1 cent....

| I believe its 80% skill and 20% eqpt. You need to be equiped with the right tools. But before you go there, you need to attain a certain skill level first.
If not, why do you think club-fitters like DGman would reject customers' business of fitting shafts if he thought they did not have sufficient skills level?
