| I heard so much about Diamana... but was wondering is the shaft worth the money. | |

| Depends on whether the shaft suits your swing or not. I have a super rare Diamana Ali'Islei that I wish was stiffer, and a Diamana Whiteboard 63 that does the job. There are 2 ways to find out how well a shaft suits your swing: 1. buy different shafts, get them fitted, try them on range and on course, then see which one feels like it gets your the results you want 2. go to a professional custom fitter, and the fitter will look at your swing, measure it on the launch monitor, then recommend a shaft, fit the shaft for you to test on the launch monitor so you can see the difference in spin rate, dispersion, yardage, etc. Usually they will fit a couple of shafts for you and let you decide which one works best. In many cases, some fitters have a good variety of shaft pullouts (2nd hand shafts, still in good condition, just that it didn't suit the previous owner -- one man's loss, another man's gain) The 2nd option, in the long run, is cheaper and more objective. The 1st option takes a longer time, costs more in the long run (shaft, reshaft, sell old shaft, get new shaft, etc), and can potentially screw up your swing if you try to make adjustments to get the results you want. A shaft should be changed to suit your swing, not the other way around | |

| To be fair, I used to think club fitting was expensive and pointless. After all, all problems come from the swing right? But looking at at the long journey thus far, I wish I got my swing and kit sorted out much earlier in my golfing history, and my initial stubbornness has result in some funky swing mechanics that I've (mostly) overcome, and a lot of money spent guessing. If you complained of poor vision, and I passed you my spectacles and told you it should work for you since it works well for me, what would you think? | |

| Diamana makes good shafts. That said, I have tried Graman shafts and am bloody impressed with them too. Flexes are measured differently from manufacturer to manufacturer, and one also need to keep in mind different kick-points on diff shafts. If I naturally have a high ballflight and i take a friend's recommendation to try a shaft that 'works' for him (and he has a naturally low ball flight), I may end up seriously ballooning my shots, and wonder what is wrong with my swing. Tiger also uses Dynamic Gold X100, but I doubt many of us here will be able to tame that. I also know a couple of tour pros who use DG S400, and PX7.2, and believe me, fat chance I'm going to be able to tame those. Tiger is Tiger, he can spank our collective asses using retail kit, so I think it's not a good model to draw from | |

| I've tried Diamana ilima and ali'islei. I feel that there is less of a kick compared to some of the other shafts I've tried but they are very stable. As for whether they are worth the money, it probably depends on whether they are suitable for your swing. I'm currently using the ilima and am very happy with it. | |

| For me, Ali'Islei has too much kick for my swing. That's why I said what works for one person may not work for another. So far, the only combo I have that really works well so far is the Diamama 63x5ct whiteboard X-flex in TM graphics that is mated to my t-i'd TM Tour Burner 9* LCG head Need to set up the rest over time, and it looks like July will be it since DGman is closed for CNY | |
