Hi,

Thot if cannot find the ball, strictly speaking will have to go back to original position to play another ball with 1 penalty stroke...

Let's focus on the joy of the occasion rather than the rules... it's in the past anyway

It's the one where your drive needs to land on the right hand side of the fairway in order to have a clear unblocked shot onto the green over the water. It's not really a long Par 4, but if your drive goes left, there's NO way to get on in two. Anyway, i putted it in from the fringe.. so it's sorta like a lucky break.

Still count as a 3....

so for this case here..drive liao go there cannot find ball, drop a ball....errr...that would be executing the 4th shot on the new ball, correct or not? or i've been ill-treating myself...

Dude, sorry to burst your bubble, but If you were unable to find your ball, you would have to take a drop, and you'd be playing your 3rd from where you dropped it.

BUT i would like to point out that the right mode of play woul be to go back n hit the shot again with a penalty stroke incurred, so that u can LEARN the rules of golf n can benefit from it...... in future games, like medals or formal games, u can apply what u learn in this forum

Let me ask a purely hypothetical question.....

Sunday morning and all the GR members get together for a game of soccer...

One of the members scores a goal but uses his hand to hit the ball... people object.... he states "but I dont want to play by those rules today"..... "Is everyone agreeable"?

Does that still mean it is a game of soccer?

Or tennis, lets not use the one bounce rule... the ball can bounce as many times as you want... Still tennis?

Dont get me wrong, there are a few rules in golf that I dont agree with, but you cannot tell me you shot 83 or whatever if you did not play by the rules.....
