| Hi All,
Like to hear from folks here. My driver length is currently 45.25 inches and am contemplating to try out shaft length ard 44.5 - 44.75 inches. I am battling a draw shot shape on my driver. Any fitters where i can go to to try out shorter driver lengths?
Thanks guys. | |

| Shorter shaft is better in control imo. Currently playing lesser than 45inch. However, if you cut to say 44.5 inch you got to compensate the swing weight. That is, your swing weight might decrease say D2 to & D0 or even lesser. Some head is easy to add weight while others may not so got to add ugly lead tape to it. Else swing weight drops too much will render the driver not so playable... | |

| I think hitting the sweet spot is more important than shaft length. Your 45.25" shaft is quite ok if you are taller than 1.75m. Yes swing weight drops when the shaft is cut. If you driver is closed face at setup, this could give you a draw too | |

| I have been playing with driver (44.5" - 45") and 5 wood (41") at a shorter length the past year, it still give me reasonable distance as compared to when it's 45.5".
Like a few bro have said, shorter length does give u better control and I order to go Long, you have to hit the "sweet spot" to generate the trampoline effect off the face to give you more efficient effort.

| Played with 46" and tee off always OB and hazard. Better to use shorter shaft. | |

| Sorry for asking a stupid question. How do I measure the length of my driver shaft? From one end of the grip to? | |

Hello haragolfer, Do you actually increase the shaft weight that you use? E.g usually use 5s than with shorter shaft u using 6s to maintain over all weight of the club? Thank you.

Thank you. I tried 70gram shaft at the same length. But in the end, after many experimentt, I settled on Bb6 tour ad shaft stiff. The weight turned out to be irrelevant to my swing. But that's my problem. The caveat is that I was choking down on all my clubs anyway. Finally, after years, I figured playing shorter clubs was my spec. My swingweight is c8 now for driver. At the moment I am considering getting a 5 wood shaft for my 3 wood. Since my 3 wood shaft is now in my driver. LOL.
