| Hi.
Newbie here. Looking (might even try 2nd hand ones) for driver and woods. Would it be ok to have different brand of driver versus wood? Or should driver and woods be same brand and model in order to be consistent because of swing, etc? BTW, my irons are Taylor Made.
Thanks. | |

| Hey Juzme, many golfers out there have mixed sets. It would be quite pointless when you can play a Nike 3wood exquisitely, but choose to put in a Taylor Made 3wood which you're struggling with just to match the brand set. End of the day, like many here will tell you, its the score that matters. Unless of cause you're bounded by sponsorship endorsements, then you'd best check with your sponsors | |

Thanks. Hi Juzme, my clubs are really mixed: Driver: Cleveland Monster XLS Draw 4W: Ping G10 Draw 3H: Cleveland Launcher Hybrid 4H: Mizuno MX-700 Hybrid Irons (4-9): Mizuno MX-300 46˚ Wedge: Cleveland CG12 54˚ Wedge: Cleveland CG12 58˚ Wedge: Callaway X-Forged Vintage Putter: Yes! Abbie So, yes, you can have a mixed bag. It doesn't mean you'll play well (I'm a prime example) but it does add for color to your bag

| Guys, thank you for your answers Reason for asking is that I've haven't tried a lot of different brands out there, and now thinking maybe getting 2nd hand driver and woods. Buying 2nd hand clubs usually are without being able to test them enough to know whethey I hit them ok or not... It's good to hear that one can mix brands So I can buy some cheaper 2nd hand driver and woods to practice. Golf's a tough game for newbies. Loving it though! | |

| many brand many options
- always check the shaft flex is it US spec (from US Ebay or seller here bought from US Ebay) or 'Asian' spec (sold in shops here). even the different brand flex is not the same, so why make it worst with the US/Asian spec.
- grip size. Many brands have different grip 'size' although all use 'standard' grip, different brand is slightly different. My Callaway BB08 irons set have a larger grip size but my Nike wedges have pencil thin grips. My Mizuno clk fli hybrid have a larger grip but my TM rescue more 'normal' size. Have regrip to standardize my set and so far better. For a beginner like me, who dont have a good fundamentals on my grip method, the wrong grip size will play havoc on my already poor swing
