| Thanks Jason. That is the prob. Pan West did not update their website. Based on the site, NSRCC has an outlet but when I was there yesterday, it has already become Transview.

Btw, anybody know where there is still a store at Harbour Front?

| If you're talking about Golf Bargains (the so-called outlet shop by PW), I think it's been closed for a while | |

| It's sad for me to take notice of the gradual downsizing of Pan-West over the years When I started playing golf a decade ago, Pan-west shops were almost ubiquitous
I've gotten many golf gear from them Then Datok Loh sold his stake to Tuan Sing Holdings
New players came into the golf retail scene, new disruptions (online sales, club fitting) also spell their decline
It's a very tough industry as I see Pan-west closing many outlets past few years.

| I heard Panwest business is in trouble ... They lost their contract at JCC to Transview recently ... They also lost many brand agencies like Callaway, Honma, Yamaha, etc. I think they only have Cleveland Golf agency. Anyway, like Titleist, Callaway sells to all resellers and they don't have agent anymore in Singapore ... I guess same for TM ... | |

| The truth is golf gear was always over priced in Singapore. With the new players - golf equipment is priced closer to the US retails which is good for the players. Maybe not the retailers!
But that is the effect of free market - when the supplier makes too much margin, new players will enter the market and bring down the price. When the market is over saturated, players will leave the market and price will rise again.
Pan West has been used to huge margins that are not achievable and need to re-look at the business model.

| Actually there is another factor that is contributing to the much higher prices in golf stuffs in Singapore than in USA, not only golf but other retail stuff. Yes, this is the rental in Singapore which is much higher than USA. | |

| Whilst retail rental is high especially in the high street - golf outlets can be online (no rental?), in industrial area (Golf Direct in Kaki Bukit, Pan West in Peminpin, Creative Joe at Kreta Ayer, Big Fish in Bukit Merah). No sure what the deal is with the pro shops at the driving ranges in terms of rental. Anyone has insight?
I believe most serious golfers do not mind going off the beaten path to get a good deal. Having said that it is unfortunate that many retail outlets do not have space to test swing the clubs.
Interestingly, Golf Direct even has a new outlet now in Centerpoint, Orchard Road - so they must found a way to make it work?

| Golf retail, as with any other retail biz, is a tough biz.
Having strong leadership in the highest level is impt to keep the biz at a competitive level
The emergence of E-commerce also plays a part as golfers can easily get access to products they carry online and at a more competitive price.
E-commerce, have little overheads. But of cos, there are also challenges.
I would love to see Pan West bounce back from tis setback.
Having said that, i think the branch in Wheelock place, HONMA, is a well run outlet with great customer service

| Would like to see Pan West do well too - more players better for consumers.
Just think that they need to rethink their strategy and business model
