| http://www.shoulderdoc.co.uk/article.asp?article=1476 Abstract: Golf is a unique sport with regards to the shoulders in that each shoulder has to do a very specific and very opposite manoeuvre in swinging the golf club. The leading shoulder is forced and stretched into an extreme adducted position at the top of the backswing and the non leading shoulder into an abducted externally rotated position. This leads to very different pathologies in each shoulder. The leading shoulder is prone to:
- Subacromial impingement.
- AC joint pain.
- posterior instability.
- Rotator cuff tears.
The non leading shoulder is prone to:
- Subacromial impingement.
- SLAP tears.
- anterior instability.
- Rotator cuff tears.

| I think it also depends on how you are swinging the golf club. Many beginnners and golfers that have poor techniques are normally more prone to injuries. For Elite golfers, injuries may be caused because of over use and too many reptitions because of long hard working practice. | |

| Think that explains why you can't keep whacking at the range.... Sometimes i feel more power and seamless in my swing after a week or two without practicing... | |

| yup totally agree. Some golfers tend to hit hundreds and hundreds of golf balls without much purpose. It can defeat the purpose and cause injuries especially when their technique is not at it's best. :p | |

Wrist exercise with dumbbells does help to remove these pains, may be because it strength the muscles, hence the muscles can tolerate more stress. | |
