Actually it's quite ironic. When someone shouted "ball" or "fore", what will you do? Run for cover not knowing where the ball is coming from? Or Simply stay put? What if you can't see where the ball is coming and run into it? As for me, if I don't know where the ball is coming I would stay put and lower my head and cover the back of my head with my hands. This way the ball will not hit my face if I lower it and it won;t hit the back of me head as I have it covered. The top of the head is pretty hard and should be able to withstand the impact with the cap on. Very Happy

I think there's nothing much that can be done except to stay low and cover your head... and maybe say a prayer or cross your fingers haha

Bro, bad idea. Lying in prone position means more surface exposure to artillery. Ball might accidentally get lodged in arse.  Shocked  Laughing  Stretcher

hmm thats very true. Maybe hiding behind your kaki you're betting with will be better.

On serious note I usually just squat like taking a dump and pray.

It happened to a friend of mine who tees off before the last person in the front flight went off, and if i may say, striking a lottery is much easier than this. His ball went ahead and hit that golfer right in the head . Too fast for rest of us to do anything except shout "ball!" ..

I would avoid playing with your "friend" in future. He has no consideration for the safety of others and lack of etiquette. How can he tee off when the flight in front has yet to completely leave the tee box, or even play their 2nd shot. Shocked Shocked Shocked

Normally when someone shouted "ball", I will just stay put and probably cover my head with my hands, unless you can see where the ball is coming from. If not it will be just as dangerous to run around like a chicken with its head cut off, Very Happy

A balukoo is nothing. My fren's dad hit a golfer in the front flight with w 280M drive. (never in his life has he ever hit that far). the golfer went down and was grabbing his head in pain. Everyone rushed towards him to check.. when he removed his hands... there was a 6 inch split on his sculp.

The average ball speed off the tee is about 90-100mhp. just imaging the damage a golf ball travelling at the speed can do. Just throwing a golf ball at someone would hurt.

So.. for god's sake.. if your golf kaki wants to tee off before the front flight has moved off.. PLEASE stop him/her from doing do. If they insist.. maybe you can pretend to throw a golf ball at them and see how they react. kidding.. Razz

Eh, bro, how old is your friend's dad? 280m = 308yds  Shocked

But, come to think of it, I was playing about 3 - 4 Sundays ago with another irregular kaki. He is a single handicapper about 52 years old. We played from Blue at Sakura Par 5 Hole 3. His tee shot average about 280 yds. We went to find his ball but could not. After a while we found his ball near the 130yds distance. Shocked Thats about 400 yds, downhill. He told us he had never ever hit that distance and I believe him as I have played with him  a few times The ball must have hit something and bounced forward. He can one on on Sakura Par 4 Hole 2. I can too for the same hole, except that my ball will be in water guarding the green instead of on the green. Very Happy

Hahahaha. you ah.. damn joker! That's the thing.. never say never. My fren's dad tee-ed off saying he will nvr hit them. Then zhun zhun. kena sweet spot.. all the star align swee swee and kena the best drive of his life.. and also nearly killed a man.  The other thing I didn't mention.. was that the victim is a doctor. Imagine if the accident was fatal...   Crying or Very sad Neutral

The moral of the story is.. dun tee off when there are ppl still on the fw. What's the use? Tee off already still gotta wait for them to clear the green before can hit the approach shot mah.

Played 36 holes at Cempala and Melati last Wednesday 19 Nov'14. Cempaka is good. Melati not bad but green speed inconsistent and on fairway sometimes the ball sink in between the grasses. If want to play Allamanda, avoid Wednesday as it's close for maintenance.
