| I was disappointed that Luke Donald missed the cut today after his mistake on round 1. Now I can only rooted for Adam Scott and Jordan Speith to win this Master... | |

Here's an Apr 9th article predicting the favourites... ======================================= THE PICK Jordan Spieth He won’t be 21 until the end of July, which would make Spieth the youngest Masters winner in history — seven months younger than when Tiger Woods won his first green jacket in 1997. He’s a scoring dynamo and has finished in the top-20 seven times in 10 tournaments since the beginning of January.
result: very good, T3 after 2 days so far
=======================================
Jordan Spieth could turn out to be a VERY interesting story. T1 w Bubba after day 3 in his Masters debut, and he is not even old enough to drink legally.

| Bubba showing a bit of nerves....but still holding up well.
Hmm....Saw a few guys putting....seemingly do not really follow thru i.e. after striking ball just block it there, especially Justin Rose.
Strategy to deal with fast greens?

| Huge huge win for Bubba n Ping! Amazing driving from Bubba on par 5 holes 13 n 15 with his i25 driver leaving him with nothing more than a 9 iron and wedge onto the green for eagle opportunities. | |

| Quite a final.
By Hole 2, Spieth made birdie and got a 1 stroke lead over Bubba.
By Hole 3, that lead became 2 strokes as Bubba dropped a shot.
Spieth kept a lead over Bubba until holes 8 and 9 where there was a 4-stroke swing, Spieth's bogey-bogey and Bubba's birdie-birdie.
That gave Bubba the lead which he cemented around Amen Corner (11, 12 13). Approaching Amen Corner, Bubba had a 1 stroke lead. By the time they swung around Amen Corner, Bubba's lead was 3 strokes. Bubba got his obligatory birdie on the short par 5 13 while Spieth found Rae's Creek at hole 12.
One could say, Spieth lost it at holes 8 and 9 and Bubba cemented the win at the Amen Corner with his prodigious length.
After that. it was a predictable romp home to the final stretch.

| Bubba's length (and unusual accuracy) turned Augusta into a driver-wedge course.
Bubba birdied two of the par 5s while Spieth birdied one and bogeyed one.
Bubba and Spieth hit the same number of fairways, 40 out of 56 (71.43%).
Except that Bubba was 17.37 yards longer.
Spieth found the bunker 8 times to Bubba's 4. Spieth was exceptional at getting up and down from the bunker, 5/8 to Bubba's 1/4.
And Bubba took 4 putts less, even though Spieth had 3 more GIR, which means when Bubba missed the green, he missed it close and could get up and down.
So, it was quite close, until eventually Bubba's distance and accuracy won out.
There is a paper written recently which demonstrated statistically that distance and accuracy with woods and long irons were more important for scoring than the short game.
This final was an illustration why that is the case.

The 8 and 9 holes are the turning point for Bubba, from 2 strokes down, he twisted the game to a good 2 strokes lead. Simply amazing play by BW! Totally deserve his 2nd green jacket; and looking forward to see him put on the 3rd
