all got cut today first time phil has missed the cut at the Masters since 1997, unreal.
on another note, bubba played amazing today, 5 straight birdies from 12 - 16.... but bogeyed 18 to finish with a 68 and 7-under for the tournament!
should be an exciting weekend at the masters!!

Notable names...
Ryan Moore Sang Moon Bae Luke Donald Sergio Garcia Ernie Els Phil Mickelson Charl Schwartzel Graeme McDowell Zach Johnson Dustin Johnson Angel Cabrera Matteo Manassero Trevor Immelman Keegan Bradley YE Yang Tom Watson Ben Crenshaw
... all missed the cut.
How many Green Jacket owners in that list can you spot? How many major holders? How many former world no. 1?
Astounding, the way the course is set up. Make 1 tiny mistake, and wham! You have your rear end handed to you by the course, regardless of who you are.
This is why the Masters is so compelling to watch.
And among those who made the cut, the group bringing up the rear had some notable names too. T46 was Sandy Lyle, Olazabal, Darren Clarke, Jason Day, Luiten, and... McIlroy.
No kidding? McIlroy just made on the cut line?
I see Martin Kaymer one stroke better above the cut line. So, I guess his swing change in order to hit draws is still work in progress.
And what about Garcia? Who was in good shape, almost winning a tournament just before this, and whom people were saying, was finally ready for the Masters? What happened there?
Hindsight is 20/20 as they say.
Here's an Apr 9th article predicting the favourites... ======================================= THE PICK Sergio Garcia Yes, we know this is a golfer who is notoriously fickle between the ears when it comes to majors — see last year, where he thought the wind was out to get him at Augusta — but this is his time. Since 2009, Garcia has gone from T-45 to T-35 to T-12 to T-8 last year. He is No. 1 on the PGA Tour in scrambling to save par, which is one of the biggest things you can do here. Our feeling is: This is the week that Sergio exorcises the demons.
result: cut
THE CONTENDERS Rory McIlroy It seems that McIlroy has finally turned the corner from his struggles last year after switching from Titleist to Nike. But his game is still as tailor-made for this place as anyone in the field, which should give him a considerable advantage this week. And think: If he wins, he’ll need only the British Open to complete the career Grand Slam — at age 24.
result: made the cut by the skin of his teeth
Jordan Spieth He won’t be 21 until the end of July, which would make Spieth the youngest Masters winner in history — seven months younger than when Tiger Woods won his first green jacket in 1997. He’s a scoring dynamo and has finished in the top-20 seven times in 10 tournaments since the beginning of January.
result: very good, T3 after 2 days so far
Patrick Reed No one heard of this guy before he won at the end of the regular season last August — and followed that up with two more wins this year. He can go super-low, dropping three straight 63s at the Humana Challenge in January. Plus: he spent two years at Augusta State College — a chip shot away from the club. He knows this place.
So, in hindsight, the Masters are so unpredictable, even for the experts.
The carnage continues tonight....

Wow! Rory just barely made the cut. Don't lose heart Rory. You are only 11 shots off the leader. Anything can happen if you put in a good score in Round 3.
Also a pity Fitzpatrick missed the birdie putt for the cut.
As for the self-proclaimed Top 5 player, well, he missed the cut by 4 strokes along with many notable big names. Fortunately we still have Bubba and Adam Scotts to keep the tournament exciting.
