I have been using a lighter shaft on my irons and it has added a few yards

I injured my wrist with stiff steel shafts. Lighter ones added distance n made wear n tear less.
Sometimes best to follow common sense. Talk to a good fitter whose main idea is not to sell u stuff but to help u improve..

Excellent point there. Play 9 holes, then get fitted.

Makes a lot of sense to me.
