Social gambling at a golf game

Hi all,

This is my first post here so pardon if this topic had been discussed before - I can't seem to find it.

Was at the course this week with my boss and some other guys and they jio me to some little side bets. The problem is that I have no clue what they were talking about - sixes, saddam, give you two... wah piang, I gave up half way through the lingo and told them ok but when game over if I win or lose just tell me I will pay.

Anyone has the same experience? Even better, anyone has done a glossary of local golf gambling lingo?

 

Hi hi, let me share with you what I know of.

Sixes, mean u pair up with different golfer every six hole. Example, you team up with your buggy mate for the first 6holes. Then switch partner on the 7th hole onward till hole 12. Then hole 13 to 18 for the 3rd partner. The score will be base on your team best score. If you get par, your partner get bogey, then will base on par to vs the other team
Saddam, I Nvr play before, but I heard is 1 vs the rest of the flightmate.
Normally it happen that one of the golfer is so good that he can take up the challenge to against the other 3 golfers. So the other 3 golfers will base on their best score among them to vs that solo golfer.

Give two two mean, first 9 holes give u 2 strokes back 9 another 2 strokes. Normally it will base on the index of the hole.
For example, first 9holes index is odd number, mean will be hole number with index 1, then index 3.
Then back 9, hole with index even number, like index 2, then 4.

It happen to me when I just start playing and side bet with them...  there many interesting different kind of betting system... But this is the most common that I had encountered.
