PostSubject: Buying golf shoes   Buying golf shoes I_icon_minitimeSun Dec 08, 2013 8:12 pm

I am currently looking into buying a new pair of golf shoes as I will be heading back into Singapore for CNY and my current pair are just on the verge of giving way.

despite being based in Vietnam where the golf scene is growing, footwear brands, designs are very limited. Either choose between Footjoys or Adidas.

I open to many ideas, the only thing I will not buy are "Black" colour shoes.

Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

FJ Sport with BOA laces gets my vote.

Heard some pretty good things about FJ Project M shoes as well.

I like Adidas Adizero Tour ...  Light, stylish and most important, comfy and yet it is not heavy on ones pocket ...

The latest FJ Lopro looks very comfy and stylish too ...

Gold Direct is a good place to start.

If not limited to FJ and Adidas then Golf Bargains at Harbour Front have some good deals as well; have mainly Callaway but also have Puma, Adidas, Crocs, etc.

Based on my personal experience in the past, I won't recommend Nike and Callaway golf shoes

Unless you like to buy new shoes very frequently lah!

If you are looking for the best, I would say Footjoy Classics Dry Premiere which are no longer in production. However if you do not mind used, you can get them on eBay. Don't bother buying the Icons. Terribly expensive and lasts only 2 years. I have a pair of premiere and lasts me ages and looking for another pair on eBay. Worth every single penny.

I second that. Bought 1 pair and can use it daily as casual wear. Wanted to buy another one but no more my size...

Thanks for all the comments.

Looks like its going to be footjoy again. I do have broad feet and it seems that only footjoy seems to readily cater to this "market".

Surprised no one mentioned Ecco.

ECCO makes such comfortable shoes. I highly recommend it. I bought a Street Lux spikeless about slightly more than a year ago. They're so comfortable till I bought 4 more pairs to use for work and casual outings. BTW, I do have wide feet and they fit just fine.

Ecco is way over-priced here ...

I have a few golf shoes and in my opinion, the adidas ones are the best in terms of value and comfort.

Ecco, is excellent for comfort, but pricey.

The Lynx spikeless ones mentioned here are cheap, but do not last long. I have a pair that I've been using primarily for the range and the sides are showing signs of coming off from the rubber soles. So good to have, but don't count on them lasting for long.

I did have a footjoy as my first pair of golf shoes and they were certainly broader than the rest. But they are comparatively less comfortable than the adidas and ecco pairs that I have. This is of course in reference to the lower end models that are less than $200. But if you have the budget for more, the higer range FJs are very comfortable.

Go for what you like and feels best on your feet. (:

saw some not bad deals at GD recently.

im wearing 2nd pair of FJs now. very comfy and good for people w wide feet.

sidetrack.
i was in korea recently, checked out the golf stuff then i realise that the prices in SG is not that bad. Korea is very expensive. but it cld be because i was in Lotte mall. the old model footjoys are even more exp than our newer models here.

It is always cheaper to buy ECCO golf shoes if you are travelling to US Factory Outlet Mall ..

Or you can try your luck at ECCO Outlet Store at IMM, sometimes you get good offer

My understanding is, golf in Korea is really a luxury sport, don't expect stuffs to be cheaper, unless you are buying replica Smile
