Anyone knows how far to carry the bunkers on hole 1 from white?

Having an argument with a friend about the distance to carry the bunkers.

yes, told him that 210m should carry the bunkers.
He said no, must be >240m, cuz he drive 220 avg and cannot get by those bunkers(last few)

I thought from white 180m should be more than enough. But hor, you need to check out the actual distance hor, couple of wks back we tee from white but the indicator on the ground show blue.

Why not just aim left side if bunkers? Plenty of room there
No need to argue lah...

Hi sob,

From the centre of the actual white teeing ground, it is 205m to carry the very last bunker on H1 and from the centre of the actual blue teeing ground, it is 225m to carry the exact same bunker. Hope it helps. If you want to be on the safe side, add 5m to each of the carry distance as a precaution Smile

Note there are not many trees surrounding that course, so any winds even if it's just a slight breeze could be enough to do the damage. Perhaps you guys were hitting into the wind on that day?

Yup, thats the main prob with hookers.
Slicers would prob not carry the bunkers, might as well lay up.

Thanks guys for the info.

@9points - yes the wind is a big factor at MBGC, one shift in direction its kaput.

@Ashahi - not good enuff to play black, its just a friendly argument between kakis.

Told him to hit slight left of bunkers, no big pulls/pushes, no wind change. Then bunkers can be cleared out of the way.

Else time for him to power up to 250-260m, lotsa of sale going on.

It doesn't have Ria Bintan though so I'll be blaming this Sunday's shortcomings on a software issue Wink.

You can still rely on the old distance markers!

Agree with Pocketace..

Actually the bunkers are not in play... Cos the fairway is really big on the left of bunkers..
If you tend to hook or draw, just aim straight at the bunkers...
If you tend to slice, aim at the buggy track on the left..

cheers
