When will you peak?

I played with this 61 yo gentleman yesterday during TGL and like many of us, he started the game only in adulthood

At one point in his life, he became very driven and competitive and manage to get his hcp down to 5. I think it's very commendable for a homemade swing (never had lessons) and he invested hours at range plus chipping and putting. He had been saddamed on a few occasions and came out tops. He claimed to have shot even par 72 on the Palm course.

Now he is more relax about golf and no longer the 5 hcp that he was and plays for fun, but I still see glimpse of his heydays with his gutsy shots and 2 birdies during the round.

Makes me wonder, when will I ever peak in my golf? I dare not even fathom a single hcp but just consistently shooting in the 80s will be challenging

What is your journey like? Have you reached the peak?

yesterday I just experienced the best 9 hole score....its not that good by most of bro's here standard, but it's good enough for me

At the back nine I scored 44, which consist of 3 Par, 4 Bogey & 2 Double, 1 3 putt, and 4 GIR

That's the first time I played in that course, and yesterday maybe was the 17th time I played in course since I started golf exactly 1 year ago.

Hopefully it's not the peak, haha

after more than a decade and more than a few experiments with equipment.  my collection has peaked in tandem to my scores.  the more equipment i  have, the bigger the number i shoot.  But who says anyone needs a good score to enjoy a good walk with friends.

i am happy with my scores now, where ironically has come lower since i started playing less.  Hope that sometime soon can play like my idol 2008. Constantly below 80s would be a nice target.

honestly though, a peak handicap index for me is a 6.0 max.  I dont know how i can play below 75 ever.  almost not even in my wildest dreams.
