Happened to see my coach with the owner, David (hope i got his name correct).

David hope to arrange a golf trip to Malaysia. Maybe a 2D1N trip. Afternoon 1 game and hv a chill out dinner, another morning game and back to Singapore.

Hope it will materialise soon!

I think the guy's name is Dennis.

Met him on Sunday evening.  Nice chap and was sharing with us his "grand plans" for the place.

Good for HK......can enjoy and hv fun back again...

So far...all good news for Punggol range! But am I the only 1 who cannot feel the ball when striking? No matter good or bad shots.  I can hardly feel where the ball has struck on the club face....plus side though...less jarring on the arms! Felt like I can go for another 2 buckets, even aft 180 balls!

is the range still on artificial grass with high bounces upon ball landing?

For safety purposes... In case someone wanna try new swing learnt from YouTube and creates a super slice/draw... It's not unusual to see or hear ppl hitting onto the metal divider at range..

Actually with the metal divider, the ball hitting it and ricochet out to hit someone is harder to predict. It happened before in mbgc the ball hit the divider and it bounce to the back almost hit someone.

Like what bro enwee said, I have seen ppl hit the ball against the barrier and it ricocheted back towards another golfer besides him ... That can be very dangerous ... I have also seen beginner hit the ball backward instead of toward the front ...

Absolutely!

well hope the divider will absorb the impact and bring the damage to minimum.. no safety nets are guranteed 100% safe. have better than dun have. lol

popped by last night to have a look at the place...it looked so run down and so unprofessiona -

drinks/cans etc all over the place ..i suspect the water filled cups were to trap and kill these insects that are fly around at night. And gawd there are so many of them.

poor girl from the zhe zha shop is stationed at the range now. selling drinks stored in black trash bags in stryofoam box at $2 per can.

Aunties (probably) relatives, going round collecting baskets left near the bay and paying no thoughts to their own safety. A golfer was swinging and she was picking up the basket at the same time.

I left for Seletar CC for my weekday practice just before Punggol closed and been happy with the arrangement. Need more convincing for me to go back to Punggol.

and two workers with umbrellas collecting balls.
i was there last night too.

happy that the range reopened, but didnt expect this kind of situation.
but hope that things will improve soon.

Manual method of picking up balls sounds very primitive ... Most use motorized machine to do so ... Sounds like a 3rd world country driving range ...
