| Played with the wife yesterday at Palm resot for my annual birthday round and she was completeing her last handicap card round. I was unusually poor off the tee pulling a lot of drives left leaving me with difficult shots into the green.
If it had not been for my inform short game and a wonderful day with the flat stick I could have easily shot a disasterous 80 or above.
In short I had only 26 putts (10 one putts) and played some stellar pitches and chips and walked off with 74 when it should have been closer to 80.
A day to remember
The hours of practice on the practice greens have paid off.

| I shoot that score 74 all the time. By the 15th hole tho. If i shoot 74 for 18, i would shit my pants , and not wash my hands for a week. Prob sleep with my putter next to me too. | |

| Guys thanks for all the kind words it means a lot. In the last 12 months I have completely changed my practice routine and worked really hard to get down to a 3.9 handicap. I believe we can all do this with a bit of effort. My main focus when practicing with purpose is to focus on the 1 shot routine. when practicing my short game I only use 1 ball and try to get down with 1 chip & 1 putt. on the range I rarely hit more than 1 ball with the same club. I imagine I am on the course and I am playing a shot to a green or laying up to a spot I have picked out.
When I am on the putting green I practice with 1 ball only because you only get one shot and one ball on the course. For me this has worked and the improvement in my game has been immense. My goal now is to get down to scratch and shoot that elusive sub par round..
I am a member at MGK so look me up and say hi.
