Seriously?

I've never once heard that the rate in JB is more attractive than what you get in Singapore?

Were you changing several hundred Ks? Smile

Usually towards the weekend the rate will drop 1 cent or 2. The fear of carry over effect.

Technospaz Bro,

I also rarely remembered that rates in JB were better than Singapore. However, when i was changing this rate of 2.535 at JB, the best rate over at Golden Mile was 2.502. Go figure how much pips the guy sitting behind the grill window earns!!!

Anyway, for your info, i only changed S$500.

Cheers!

In JB, usually better rates than the rate posted on the window. So far  I at JB, either same or better than Sg rate.
PS: Tip is to chg at place where there is more than 1 money changers.

I know OCBC and UOB if u go to their ATM and withdraw no additional charges, only exchange rate. But you must ask them to activate overseas withdrawal.

at 2.54......S$1000=RM$2540

at 2.55......S$1000=RM$2550

if u change just S$200, difference is only RM$2..... cant buy wan tan noddle at mysian coffee shop

does it really matter if its 2.54 or 2.55???

if u really want to save.... change S$10000 at bank rate rather than money changer

cant spend $10000, then keep for long term..... unless u have no intention of going north

Slinger, you are absolutely correct.

I always hear people get frustrated that they missed out on a good exchange rate by 0.01 or 0.02. When asked how much they've changed, it's often less than $500. In reality, the difference isn't huge but it's still something which we (being kiam-kana) must avoid. If we can squeeze blood from stones, we'd do it.
