| Hello everyone! We're a blog that is located in Vancouver, Canada and last week, we had the opportunity to drive down to Tacoma, Washington to play Chambers Bay Golf Course, host of the 2010 US Amateur Championship and future host of the 2015 US Open! It was about a 4 hour drive from Vancouver, so not TOO bad!
Our tee time was at 1:50PM, but we arrived about 2 hours early to soak in the sites and get the full experience. The clubhouse was very "homey" and perched on top of a hill overlooking the entire golf course. We were shuttled down to the practice area where we were given unlimited practice balls on a GRASS driving range and several "tee boxes" for short pitch shots/chips. There were also several oversized greens to practice putts - probably some of the hardest greens we've ever played, the undulations were incredible even though it wasn't at tournament speed.
Overall, it was one of the hardest golf courses we've ever played in our lives, but it was so worth it! Can't wait to watch the pros play there in 2015. Read more about our experience at Chambers Bay on our blog:

We are posting on this forum while at work, so we don't have much access to photos at the moment - but make sure to check out our full photo gallery on our facebook page. You can find the link on our blog!
Happy golfing!

| I've been fortunate enough to experience this with my wife back in 2010. One of the best walking courses I have been on.

| I agree! Definitely one of the best courses we've played, but also one of the most difficult! Can't wait to watch the pros play it in 2015. The first 9 was quite the hike! | |

| Reviving this thread.
I was most fortunate to play this course today in cool weather. It's a real links course and I had the most enjoyable 18 hole walk throughout. I definitely agree with the above that front 9 was harder than back 9. Took some pictures and will upload when I'm back. | |

| Hey Renode! Great to hear you've made your way to Tacoma and played Chambers Bay - can't wait to see your photos! Planning on playing any other courses in WA while you're there? | |

| Just reviving this thread again--we're going to be heading to Chambers Bay again in a couple days to play! Just a year before it's set to host the 2015 US Open! The rough/fescue has supposedly grown to near US Open lengths... will be sure to take photos and share with everyone here in the meantime, check out the ones we took last year! http://www.eighteenunderpar.com/course-of-the-week-chambers-bay-golf-course/ | |
