| Had a game recently and found that my balls no longer like to go swimming. Instead, they like to play with sand… Had a hard time getting out of the bunkers and blow a few holes because of it. Does anyone know and golf range that allows us to practice bunker shots? I find the only time I get to try bunker shots is on the green.. | |

| MBGC. Open to the public. $10/hour for the putting/chipping/bunker area.
And of course Justin Han's short-game clinics at Laguna. $22 and change but you get access to 1) Justin 2) Greenside Bunkers 3) Fairway Bunkers. Look for the "SSN Alternative" thread.

| Yeah... MBGC is pretty good. IIRC, Permas Jaya in JB has a bunker at its range too. | |

| Orchid Country Club has pretty excellent short game facility with many varied lie conditions. Bunker included of course. | |

Changi's my favourite, but Kranji has a sand bunker practice area too. I like Changi because you use range balls, and don't have to pick up your balls when you are done, or have a fear of blading the shot and hitting people in the practice area. =)

Then who picks up for you? Correct me if I'm wrong please. Think most, if not all, ranges require that you bring your own practice balls for chipping and bunker practice and range balls are not allowed. Has this changed?

| Nsrcc range has a bunker bay right at the end of the range
Hence you hit range balls from that bunker towards the direction of the range net just like any golfer hitting range balls at the range
- therefore no need to pick up - no fear of blading it

Lol, sometimes golfers become so absorbed in chipping or bunker practise that they may inadvertently be unaware of other mere mortals around. It's good to ensure that there is no one else directly opposite on the other side of the practice facility. One never knows when one will airmail a ball clear to the other side, same goes for the other guy. No one wins in a crossfire And no apology how profuse, covers medical bills.

| Thanks guys for the info. Looks like NSRCC Changi is a good place to practice. No worries about ball and hitting ppl on misfire.
Will see if I can join in the SSN Alternative too.

| The other good thing about the NSRCC bunker practice area is that it has various lip heights in the bunker to practice various types of bunker shots.
Try going in the late evening or early morning. Lots of lessons go on in the bunker at other times.
Good luck! | |

| Laguna driving range also has a bunker at the ground floor last bay on extreme right facing the net at end of range - use range balls, no fear of blading it, no need to pick up
Laguna also has a short game area behind the range. There is a bunker there - use your own balls, please be aware of other short game users, pick up balls after use
Laguna is usually not too busy, but restricted use to students and members only

| Hi iron eagle: you cannot do that in a public area not designated for golf. One of my friend brought his grandson to west coast park for a walk and thought that he could also practice some sand shots since there were not much people nearby. Someone did call the police and they gave him a warning and saying if the place not "designated for golf" you can't take practice golf swings - even for chipping. Just an advice... | |
