If I am not wrong, woodsman can still use irons but they must select at least driver and/or woods as one of the sticks. Better let chairman clarifies the confusion.

Bro, most of us average joes and don't hit irons that far.
It'll be diffcult to go againest woods without the hybrids, especially par fives/ fours with water at the 150- 200 m mark .

Ironman ( anything but woods) vs Kayu man ( everything incl woods)

But of course Pure ironman ( no hybrids) gets extra mention and honour. But as some of you know, i think 4 irons and up dont belong in bags of mere mortals who have a life outside of golf. So i shall not discriminate against hybrids.

And we are playing this to have fun la, not to punish ourselves. So white tee again.

still wondering how to do the versus thing. team challenge or individual match up. Play for closest to honest joe declared. Any suggestions?

haha ... if only I can schedule a work trip down and make it for the game ... given every one knows how pro-hybrids i am, i could form a new category ... woods/hybrids/wedges only no irons

Original idea was just an iron man game, find how we fare without woods and layup all par 4s/5s.

A game Vs Kayu kind of muddled things a bit

kayu - woods (up to 5 wood) + 1 wedge + 1 putter
iron - purely iron w wedge + putter (no hybrid)

is it better this way?

ok guys, we are spending inordinate amount of time figuring out the kayu vs iron man...

so like that ah. 5 club. anything you want. next 2 series , then do 4 club ironman then pure iron man..

some more, i also dont know how best to enjoy a versus game.

maybe for wood, 1,3,5 wood + 3 wedge (pitching inlcude) + 1 putter = 7 clubs
* how u lay up or strategy for par 3 is up to u... lol

for irons, 5i - 9i + 1 wedge + 1 putter = 7 clubs....

shld be quite fun....
