GolfBuddy Voice GPS

This is my first real contribution after lurking around here for a while. Bought the above last Friday at the Isetan Scotts golf sale for 199 and brought it to OCC on Sunday for a trial run.

It is basically a golf GPS that tells you the distance to the centre, front and back of the green. It can also measure the distance between your shot. It is very small and you can clip it to your cap/visor or to your belt (which was what I did). Very easy to use. Reached OCC, turned it on and it located the satellites within 1-2 minutes. It automatically identifies the hole you are at and gives you the distance to the centre of the green. Most importantly- I found it accurate (did some checking with my Bushnell). In fact, just went to get a second one for my father in law who was so impressed with it.

When I came back after 18 holes, there was still more than half the battery life left. Will take it out again this Sunday for another test run and post updates here.

tempted.. beats carrying a rangefinder which at times can be inaccurate depending on how well u aim... waiting for ur second review..

Two of my regular kaki are using it and its very useful. I always get the reading from them.

Hi, I have one from same factory product, it is with graphic display, can show course layout, distance, record your score, dirver on firway or not, even how many putts, etc. It is quite useful. All my game alreayd save into the memery and donwloand into labtop later.

Bro the Isetan golf sale is on till 10 March. Should still be available at 199. I believe the usual price is 250. It is at a corner near the drivers.

1) After hole 1, when i change to hole 2, do i need to press any thng or the GB auto detect and change to hole 2 ?

2) After tee-off, at 2nd shot location, the GB will show distance left to pin right? Or do i hve to press sme button?

Bro. No need to press anything from hole to hole. It automatically detects the different holes. Same for your second question after tee off when you go to your ball, it shows you your real - time distance to the centre of green. You can also get the distance to front or back of green.

Just took it out for second time today and my father in law also took his out. Had a good chance to judge the accuracy and see if there was any variation between different sets. Here's my final verdict:
PROS: Very easy to use, accurate, convenient(small and can clip to your cap or belt), can press a button for voice option so you don't even have to look at it
CONS: Being GPS based, it does not take into account slopes

For the price it is going for, I highly recommend it. No more guessing of distances to the green for me.

I had used it for months. Very easy to use, light and compact. The battery last for 2 full round of 18 holes. The reading to the front and back reading is useful for club selection to be GIR.

The main reason I choose golfbuddy is that I can read instead of voice. It is good when you don't want voice to disturb your golf kaki or nature.

Just bought one at Isetan, will test it out on Tuesday!
