If they quote you around 2.40 go ahead man. Opportunity knock but once. Try to do it this way. Ask them what is the rate for buying RGT. IF they quote you low, just pretend..wah so low ahh... then I snell you RGT you give what rate?? Hope one kuai lan one quote you low also then YOURRRRSSSSS.......... That day at Amex counter the girl yaya papaya. Quote me both ways at 2.40 knowing I don,t have RGT to sell to her. Damm, if have sell her cash 5 Million and go and cover spot at 2.50. Make half million RGT if thats the case. Don,t have to work for a year..kekekekke Wish during my dealing days got such stupid spread differential. Titu... I have a small corner we can set up a stall, just buy sell myr...

The spread is elephant Jon... heard about 300 pips between bid/offer... And the problem is after buying Sgd whether can change back...
Think we can do a deal online here... who wanna sell their ringgit to our bros here who need it ? we fix at mid rate la....
p/s: imho sgdmyr will drop back eventually... I think Jon has a regular inflow of RGT thru his Malaysian biz and he will be a natural seller of RGT against Sing. Don,t think he is a speculator. @Jon.. make sure you got the big figure correct Jon, if it is low nearer the 2.40..by all means sell off the RGT. Don,t think RGT going to rally anywhrere near term as Election grows nearer and I don,t think the ruling party is going to do well. That will naturally weaken the RGT. So now if some money changers quote you out of line, especially now there is some so call shortage, just sell them the RGT. But again I like to make sure you got the big figure correct. Don't end up selling at 2.50 instead of the lower 2.40 okie??? Good luck bro and Happy New Year.. titu

I heard from relatives in JB that it's also more dangerous to carry cash around, especially near the money changers. No, the robbers won't rob the money changers but the people who went there, Singaporeans especially. This, I also heard before. Especially the few changers outside the custom? Because the road in is one way. They just block your exit and that's it.

if u are too worried abt safety.... dun u think RM$50 diff is justifiable
unless change S$100K.... but y carry 100K to JB

| Slinger, you've hit the nail on the head.
Many a time, we (myself included) grumble about the rate. Too low... not enough... can get higher rate purllleeease???
Then, we change S$200.
The difference is a couple of ringgit. May not even be enough for an Ice Blended from CBTL. But we fight tooth and nail for the .1 or .2 more!

| Hi Guys;
I also work in JB and get paid in Ringgit. Will have a few thousand Ringgit available for change at mid-rate if you guys are interested. PM me.
PS... exchange in SG safer for all. I live on the east side and am only in SG on the weekends. Also, SGD 400-1000 per transaction please. too small waste time, too big also very risky.

| I agree 100% with Slinger. Unless we are changing by the tens of thousands or more, don't bother with the different. But that is why the rich always get richer because they calculate every cents to their advantage. Titu is one great example. | |

I just know I won't be carrying tens or hundreds of thousands to change when my bank can do it for me..... Money invite problems.... Maybe that's why that money changer got killed....

| Here was what I used to do....for security reason purpose only 1) Open an acct in Mal 2) Find A trusted money changer; regardless where they are located I.e. Mal or Spore 3) Money Changers have many accounts in many banks, both locally and internationally 4) You wire your SGD to the Money Changer 5) Money Changer will then wire money to your acct in Mal Simple and safe! | |
