Hi All,

For those who have the Long Tom, how is its performance?
Also are you using it on course yet?

I kinda bought it on impulse and now struggle to keep it straight ... slicing is super common.
The distance of the slice is longer if compared with my old R11 though ... so that's something ...

Could it be the extra long shaft is too wobbly for you?

Well wobbly is one way of putting it, haha.

Just don't feel the club yet I suppose.
No feeling .... Smile

Was wondering if there are any Golfers here who have mastered this club ... or manage to get it going straight.

Swing it easy and let the club does its work for you i.e trust the club. I tend to slice it too if I use too much strength. Those that tried the club are of the view that the club wants to complete the swing, if it makes any sense. Once you start the downswing, the club just swings through and you feel being led along. Perhaps the longer shaft creates a stronger centrifugal force.

So, relax and swing easy, like Ernie Els.

I have try long tom (stiff flex) twice and the ball flew from straight to right. with short grip and longer shaft, I believe you need not exert excessive energy to hit further. Just to focus on smooth swing to contact the ball and let the equipment do the job.

Did I mention the ball roll further?

Sounds nice ... letting the club do all the work. Haha.

I will try it at range soon.

Thanks for the advice pug and ranctor.

when i was still playing golf, i used the long tom... as the club is longer, you may need to flatten your swing a little... tat worked for me... sometimes straight but not too sure abt the dist as i am a short hitter anyway. So if a lousy golfer can do it, so can u Smile

hi pug, is the 2w 13 degree? What is the length of the club?

Found out from internet that it is 12.5 deg with 45" shaft.

How much is it selling at GD by the way?

Hi Guys,

Just a big thank you for the advices given.
Tried swinging it flatter and letting the club do the work and it WORKS!

While I am driving at about 190m now (still beginner at golf), I must say that it is a big improvement over what I could do with my R11 last time.

Once again thanks.

Only gripe is that Long Tom is now at $139 at GD.
I got it at $159 at GD just 2 months ago ... sigh ...

yups an awesome weapon in the arsenal when u hit it right... esp useful on course if u had a bad tee off.... otherwise its another club less when u put it in the bag....agree with the bros who says take an easy swing n let the long tom work its magic...

Only if it is a stiff and I will be tempted to try. Smile

Not sure if GD still has the 2 wood for sale? For those who have it, How is the distance like comparing to using driver?

Got my Long Tom 2 wood a few days ago at $129. About 190m to 200m off the deck at the driving range, it is easier to launch than my regular 3 wood 15 deg loft. Can't wait to try on the course.
