| Presently I used the logo of the ball...
Question: If I want to draw a line on the ball, how to do it? Is there any tool to help?

| there are those special spherical casing for ball marking. Just put your ball in it and use it mark a line across the ball | |

| if you got time, good to draw a line, if you find that too time consuming to do for all your balls... then use the brand name on the ball, i always use that for alignment.
For example, most balls have a name, eg."DT Roll", during putting, you can use the name of the ball as a normal alignment...works well for me so far...

| I like using the line on my ball. It helps in my set-up for my drives and for my putts. Quite dependent on the line now. | |

| I used this equipment to balance my balls which ALSO MARKED THE BALL ON THE EQUATOR OF THE BALL. I then used this line over the equator of the ball as alignment to my target. This ball balancing equipment is attached below.

| Ball alignment can work both ways. It can help your game tremendously or it can really ruin it.
During putting sometimes, when you put too much emphasis on where your ball line is pointing that you might tend to forget about pace which is more impt (according to Pelz).
I find that when I start to have pace problems, I start placing my ball so that its 'all white' when i address it. It helps me focus more on strengh control and getting the ball close. A tip I picked up from an article by Paul McGinley.
There has been talks now that the USGA is thinking of banning alignment lines on balls soon. Trust the geniuses at the top to think of how to make the game more difficult than it actually is for the millions of golfers ard the world.

| 1)within 10 feet i wud use the line i draw on the ball and be agrressive with the putt
2).. more than 15 feet puts i usuually use white ball n concentrate on speed to get ball close to hole.. 2 putts from more than 15 feet i can live with tht.
3)also theres a theory tht putts n drives made along the equator will gv a "truer" roll as well as greater distances, hence thes equipment to find them.
usually high end balls the model of the ball is already marked on the equator or close to it. eg. titleist prov1/1x, TM tp red/black
i dont use the equipment but try to find the half ball . ie where the polymer casing joins.. if u see closer u can see a slightly more continuous space where the dimples r not on it
4)use the Scotty cameron ball tool to help.. they dont sell them in s'pore yet.. but u can buy them from the net

| I may be the odd one out here but I leave the "plain face" up.
I prefer and feel more comfortable to go by feel and my putters line. Then again, my putting is nothing short of horrible lol

| I am so used to playing a balanced ball that the thought of playing without one makes my knees shake. It gives me some added confidence in my putting. I can then concentrate a bit more on the pace knowing that the ball will roll truer than one without. Not to say that I become a better putter although still doing 2 and 3 putts but then a few more 1 putts in comparison to last time without it. Titu | |

| I draw a cross with the usual direction line longer. The other line is to allow me to make sure that my putter face is square to the ball. Like what S70B, some times we get too focus on the line that we forgot about the strength control. So for me, once I get square to the ball, the rest will be the feel for the putt. | |

If I ran out of "marked and balanced balls" at the course, I would surely lose confidence in my putting. Hope that answers your query. I never leave home without it. Titu PS IN my bag, I carried around 2 dozens of this balanced balls in case I losed some while playing.

| I think the line is pretty useful as I just need to use the line to target my putting direction after reading the break/slope. So once that alignment part is settled, I'll just have to concentrate on the putt pace. Of cos the break reading will depending on the pace (firm, chiong kinda putt or dying speed putt), thus its gd to decide on the pace - e.g. use firm putt for uphill or; dying speed for far lag putts or downhill ones).
Btw, just to ask if its ok for friendly games to use a newer ball (for the clear line on the ball) for putting only (same brand and type) since the marked line on the balls sometimes fade after a few commando holes...

Bro, it is illegal during competition but even if playing with friends do it discreetly. Some kakis might not like it.

Yup agreed on that but you are not supposed to used a different ball on the same hole just for putting only. Someone correct me please. Titu
